I think he should seeing how non athletic he is. He's still dominate the PF position is turning into a more athletic position and I'm not sure if he will still be able to dominate people like Amare along with others. _________________ NBA Championships: 2000,2001,2002,_____

i've allways felt like he should, but there's really only one test - results.
the spurs are champions, and untill they get beat, they will not consider to change his position, and they're probably right doing so.
i remember a fat man saying "if it ain't broken, don't fix it..." |

Duncan's game is such that he can get by at either position. He can post his man up down in the low post and use power moves to get the short hooks and finger-rolls, which is what he'll do when someone like Amare is guarding him.
He can also operate on the high post, and hit the 15+ foot bank shot or jump shot from either side, which is what he does when a bigger, more immobile defender, gives him more space in an attempt to cut off his drive.
It doesn't matter what position he plays, he makes pretty good decisions with the ball, and can use a variety of moves to keep his defender on his toes. |

He seems to be doing just fine at the 4 anyway. _________________ Lakers |

He does play center. He played it when Rose would play on the floor with Duncan, and he plays center when he's out there with Robert Horry. |

Only if he wants to. He seems to know what he's doing on the floor. |

i don't see any need to move him. he plays just fine in his position and they need him to defend at that position. i think his atheltic ability is underrated. |

No he should stick to his natural PF spot, plus they got 3 titles out of it no need to change now. _________________ 14 till 17 |

Timmy proved a big point this year - that the Spurs could win it all without The Admiral. It was all on Timmy's shoulders, regardless of Manu, Tony, Pops and the rest. |

What if they were to land someone like SAR or C Webb? I just want to know if its best for there team. Because they dont have a legit center on there team. I mean Rasho is a joke and Muhammed is not consistent. They have a better shot at landing a good PF. I mean the best they can do is add an average center. _________________ NBA Championships: 2000,2001,2002,_____

Everything changes when you decide to play the What If game.
Post this on SpursReport, they'll probably give you better opinions on the Spurs than we can. _________________ Los Angeles Lakers |

Mohammed was a steal for them. He's pretty decent weak side help. |

Not true, he played the C at Wake Forest. The only reason why the Spurs converted him into a PF is because they had Robinson..
Anywayz, what's the freakin difference?
What's the point of this thread?
Duncan can play both positions, he can dominate both positions and in the end it's the same result for the Spurs.
If they've gotten Jermaine O Neal or Elton Brand a fgew years ago, Duncan would be a center today..
However, they got Rasho and Duncan is a PF..
It's really not a big deal....it's not like it's a Odom situation we're talking about here. _________________ Someday you will be loved |

The Spurs like to go with twin towers for a majority of the game. If Duncan can guard all these multi-dimensional PF's, then it certainly does not hurt his team if he plays PF. They thrive on interior defense, and having two shot-blockers on the floor has been a key to their success. If he played center all the time, then they would not to be able to play the 2nd shot-blocker as often. |

He kind of does play center ... The Spurs have always had another 7 footer starting beside him so that he doesn't have to guard the opposing 5 - Robinson, Nasterovic, Mohammed ...
But he does slide over and play C when Horry is on the floor, and he did in the past when it was Malik Rose alongside him. _________________ "It’s like going to the Getty and standing in front of Van Gogh’s Irises while some schmuck next to you critiques individual brush strokes. Duncan better stick to forward. He hasen't been able to be tha lone big man in his entire career. The spurs always make sure they have another big next to him to support him. |
