I don't think that DC is necessarily as smart of a fighter as he gets recognized as. Jones gamed him with low kicks until he started getting ready for low kicks then boom, head kick.
Stipe in some ways was the same. Figured out how to adapt and then took his opening. The similarity in both fights is that DC was comfortable with the way things were going, and then got caught out by his opponent making an adjustment.
The trouble with doing the same thing over and over, is that if you can't put your opponent away, then you'll become predictable. They'll figure out timings, tendencies, and openings.

Wait. Wut. Conor did an interview?
Just kidding.
MMA World putting together that montage from his interview of all his excuses was pretty funny and a little sad. I hope we see him against Gaethje or a rematch with Poirier. GTFO with that Frankie Edgar noise. _________________ We back.

That was the worst part and borderline bullying lol. Conor should be ashamed.
I would love to see him vs Gaethje. I think Gaethje KO's him by sheer will power lol
Khabib is on another level to everyone else in that division. He basically nullified Poirier and smothered him for the entire fight. Unreal.
Dillon Danis on twitter after fight saying Conor would 100% win a rematch with Khabib, bro you trippin, not a chance. _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

I was watching on my phone and got in on the 2nd round.. Khabib isn't quite a normal fighter.. His discipline and years and years of brutal fighting
Are just beyond most every single professional/commercial fighter.
Really good youtube on Khabibs life growing up and how his region was most violent in Russia
so the government decided to incentivize sports and physical disciplines to reduce the gun and fighting fascination..
it worked..
Khabibs dad was a badass fighter who wanted to teach people all he knew. So from the earliest years of his life he was exposed to fighting ..
Dude is a Russian Legend..
Khabib Nurmagomedov's Combat Sport History
Look at this fool
Khabib Nurmagomedov Sets UFC Takedown Record for a Single Fight
t takedowns in a single fight at 21, which he accomplished at UFC 160 in 2013.
“I told people my plan. I went into the cage, made him tired, change his face, smash his face and I did everything that I said,” Khabib added.
“But after everything he said, he didn’t do nothing and this is the big difference between us.
“You can talk and if you don’t do anything, you have to shut up. But it’s like I said, I did everything I said I would inside the cage and now he talks like he did something.
“But inside the cage he just talk about ‘This is just business’. This shows me how weak he is on the mental.
If this is just business, I am just going to choke him out and leave him alone.”
If Tony Ferguson sinks his arms into Khabib as far as Dustin did, I'd put a fortune down that Khabib goes to sleep.
I don't think Khabib goes in head first with Tony like he did with Dustin. He baited him into that choke according to his post fight interview, and never really felt in danger.

I think Dustin probably hits much harder than Tony
Dustin thinking he could've done something differently or that he messed up.. what else could he do.. an anaconda with two arms and two legs wrapped itself around you /eos

Watching interactions between Khabib and Tony ... Khabib doesn't show supreme confidence in his demeanor like with other fighters
I think his height worries him. Seems to put Tony in a position of power over him
I think the biggest x-factor is that Tony has NO fear of being taken down. He'll let loose with his unorthodox striking imo. He's not going to be tentative with his strikes like every other fighter facing Khabib. _________________ KOBE

My friends who are avid mma fans think Tony is going to rock Khabib. They all claim he's a 1 trick pony but I've watch the last few Khabib fights and he truly looks unbeatable as anyone I've seen. He looks even more dominant than Jon Jones imo but this is coming from a very untrained eye. _________________ Don't let perfect be the enemy of good

Khabib's one trick is light years ahead of everyone else's. I just think Tony is so comfortable off his back (he's submitted dudes left and right off his back) that the fear of the takedown that stalls everyone that faced Khabib doesn't exist.
With that said, if Khabib beats Tony, the only way I see Khabib losing at LW is a fluke knockout. _________________ KOBE

Hughes is a tough dude... brawler..
Duffee.. was getting rearranged and chose to quit based on what looked like a very small eye poke.. bummer
652pm still going ...
Donald Cerrone vs. Justin Gaethje
UNDERCARD
Antonio Carlos Junior vs. Uriah Hall
Marcin Tybura vs. Augusto Sakai
Misha Cirkunov vs. Jim Crute

Fight to make now is McGregor vs Gaethje with the winner getting the fight against the winner of Khabib vs Tony.
Good to see you Wolf!!
And I'm totally down with this scenario.
Gaethje/McGregor is a no-brainer especially with Justin's impressive bounce back from those consecutive losses against top tier LW's. _________________ We back.
