Verizon is the only carrier that gives you some reception at this area.
So, if you want the iphone, and you don't get reception with ATT, then the antenna booster would come in handy. Right?
As far as the Verizon iphone rumors, I read that it was around the summer of 2009, but who knows. |

Wal-Mart to sell iPhone later this month: reports Quote: | Numerous websites have speculated in recent weeks that Apple will offer a 4-gigabyte model of the iPhone for $99, which holds about 1,000 songs, at Wal-Mart stores. | _________________ <

Nice.. thanks for posting...
My buddy jailbroke is iPhone over the weekend. It's unreal what you can do... I'm very tempted to Jailbreak my phone. I was him through the process... it wasn't very painful, and the utility he used backs up his current iPhone (along with the restore file) so he can revert back. He able to use apps specifcally made for jailbroken iPhones alongside apps from the iTunes app store.
The customization he has over his iPhone is incredible... he can change anything from the background (have it present on all screens) to the battery indication. Just about everything thing on the phone can be customized.
What really got me was the video recording (something I do miss). This guy (not my friend) made a music video (ignore the song, its terrible) with all the footage for the video shot with his iPhone (Article/Video).
There's also an app that will added a zoom feature to the camera.
Those are just the things i played around with.... but there are 1000s of jailbroken apps out there (although if I jailbroke my phone, I would probably only do the things I mentioned above).
Has anybody else jailbroken their 3G iPhone? If so, what's the experience been? Pros? Cons?

I've been thinking of jailbreaking mine so I can tether it to my laptop. I have no idea how to even start though. |

Been thinking about it too - seen some very cool things that I wouldn't mind being able to do. I just haven't had time to do the due diligence into what it takes to jailbreak a phone and whether I want to invest the time. From Tach's description it sounds like it takes a bit of doing... |

Actually from what I witness if was fairly easy and straight forward. The app my buddy used walked him step by step through the process using a nice GUI. It took about 30 - 40 minutes start to finish. He did it last Sunday, so I will ask him if he ran into any issues during the week. If not, I'm going to take the plunge... first on my iTouch.. if all goes well, then the iPhone... I'll post updates.
The tool he used was called Pwnage.... |

Apple announces special iPhone 3.0 event for March 17
"Apple today sent out invitations to the media for a special event to be held in the Apple Town Hall on Apple's Cupertino, CA campus on March 17 at 10am PDT to discuss the iPhone 3.0 software and SDK.
Nothing else is known about the event or who from Apple will present the information.
Last year, Apple held their special iPhone 2.0 roadmap event on March 6th and released iPhone 3G to the public on July 11, 2008." |

Is there a decent streaming TV app yet? To watch Lakers games in the car for example? |

Please don't watch television in the (bleep) car as long as my loved ones and I are still alive. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

The car moves right? I'd have driven to a sports bar and comeback to get her. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Will the updates be significant enough to make current iPhone users upgrade, or is it intended to try to draw in non-iPhone users?
Or is it just an excuse to upgrade for upgrade's sake? _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.

Apple doesn't often do upgrades for upgrade sake. They're calling a special event, so it darn well better be special. |

I dunno about any hardware updates, but I'm looking forward to software updates that will help anyone with an iPhone. I've heard cut n' paste will be delivered, but not some other key things like video. |

I was going to upgrade my iPhone in June if there was vid chat enabled and other cool HW features. But if it is just a faster processor and more memory, I will hold back.
iPhone 1.0 with 2.0 software works fine for me and I'll really need to be persuaded to upgrade the hardware. |
