DB, truly a great ending. I have a feeling though that it might just be part one of a trilogy, afterall Phil has won them in threes!

It was truly an emotional day for me, my wife tells me that I get affected more on how the Lakers fare than my own personal stuff in life. I think in some respect its true.

Finally Little Larry is back where it belongs, afterall it was stolen last year by those green menace.

My dream has always been to attend a Laker Championship parade, unfortunately my plans got sqashed this year but hopefully next year, I will be there. I envy you guys who will be there as I am a thousand miles away.

Lets go Lakers!

The biggest reason I come to this site are your game analyses.
They're insightful, balanced and superbly detailed.
My Laker experience just wouldn't be the same without this. Thank you.

Thanks DB, for the poignant season ending recap, and all your work this year has been appreciated and enjoyed. What a great story this Lakers team has been, from the rock bottom rebuild phase of 2005 to our victory in 2009. The story of building strong team work, working the draft, working the Trade markets and Free agency, getting the coach who I've hated at times..., seeing the love the team has for him... Working in the trenches in Houston's 7 game series, overcoming ridiculous ref bias, Denver's mauling, winning two overtimes. Wow! What a crazy ride it's been! I'm just so happy for Kobe who's been so maligned all these years, he really earned it. I'm happy for LO, who's also been maligned, and Pau. And Derek Fisher!!!!!! Wow, this guy made all the difference with the smallest but most powerful contribution of all!! These guys overcame the most. I bet some brilliant books will be written about this storybook run.

Your devotion to your "Thoughts and Ratings," your consistency in your craft, and your final product, dare I say, could all be called "chick-esque." It's been a wonderful season illustrated by a wonderful writer.

I call on everyone to give DB a well-deserved round of applause...

DB simply the best

DB thank you for the write ups. I enjoy them win or lose. Your story telling is second to none.

I will miss the stories this summer but definitely look forward to them this fall. I guess I will just have to watch the Champioship DVD over and over to get me through the summer!

DB again great job and thank you!

Great ending for the 4 Horseman and the City of Angels. Thanks for the ride DB!

I was so proud of our guys, most especially in that second quarter. They finally got that collective killer instinct and you just knew it was all over. I haven't had that feeling since the three-peat era. If we carry that that killer instinct over to next season and combine it with the confidence and experience that comes from being the champion -- the sky's the limit for this team. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see us make a run at another three-peat.

I wish I could be there with you all for the parade but I'll be watching from Boston with a big ole smug smile on my face.

Time to start thinking about the storyline for next season!

Nice touch with the for each player.

Coincidence? Lakers go on 16-0 run to shore up win #16 of these playoffs. It would have been even better if it were for championship #16 as well, but I will take 15. Can't get to 16 without getting 15 first.

Oh, and our Kobe Bryant had the best points-assists numbers since some guy named Jerry West in 1969. I think we should trade Kobe while he still has value for Tracy McGrady or Jason Kidd

BEAUTIFUL write-up DB! You really have to compile all of your write ups into one online "book" so we can enjoy this season DB style again and again!

There were a lot of "turning points" in this postseason:

1) Game 4 against UTAH, where Kobe first put "his stamp" on the postseason.

2) Game 2 against Houston where Fish took out Scola and let the league know the Lakers wouldn't be physically intimidated.

3) Game 5 against Denver where Shannon Brown dunked on the Birdman and cut the heart out of Denver.

4) Game 4 against Orlando - not so much for the Fisher 3's, but as a team, in the midst of an utter jobbing by Salvatore & his merry group of fixers, the Lakers collectively decided, "Not this year! Champions don't complain, don't feel sorry for themselves, don't shrug their shoulders and moan 'How can we win in these circumstances?' They play through it and win, because they won't be denied!"
