I'd like to know as well. He's the last remaining piece in question. Hopefully we can bring him back on board. _________________ "We are the goodest." - Shaq ESPN interview |

He's asking for 10....he's worth 7. Just split the difference and give him 8.5..... _________________ Take away Kobe's skills, leadership, intangibles, and rings and add a couple inches, 40 pounds, and some jumping ability...and you're left with Lebron. |

Negotiations are ongoing.
Of course, since no team can pay what he wants, negotiations aren't going to be that strenuous. |

I don't know if there's ever any "real word" about any FA. There's only rumors, which are usually contradictory. My feeling is you only know what's going on when both a player and a team announce publicly they've reached an agreement. Until then it's just speculation for people to fill up the off-season chatting about.
I mean, you'll have lots of people here eagerly chime in how much Lamar is asking for, and what the Lakers are offering, as if they actually know, but it's just guesses. |

That's the thing though, I haven't even heard any rumors or speculation about him. Nobody has even speculated that LO and the Lakers are speaking, or that any other teams are even thinking about giving him the MLE. |

For those who believe he should get 7-8 mill while Hedo is getting 10 and guys like Trevor, Sasha, and Luke are getting what they're getting don't come crying on the board if we lose him!

I haven't heard a figure. Last I heard was LO saying he'd take a paycut. Do you have a link? _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

This is the only thing I've heard on Lamar, it says he's looking for 10 but it doesn't say if the Lakers have even made an offer or if other teams are in the mix at all. |

first off, odom is definately better than hedo. anyone who thinks otherwise is smoking the same crack as odom....anyway, odom is definately worht $10 million. but he should be willing to take $8.5-9 mil to remain on the lakers and win 2-3 more rings |

You're only worth up to the amount the highest bidder is willing to pay. Hedo apparently is worth 10 mill to Portland. Comparing what Portland wants from Hedo and how much they're willing to pay to what LO provides for us is irrelevant. Apples and oranges.
If someone offers LO 10 mill, he's gone. If he ends up with the Lakers, he will probably make somewhere between 7.5 to 8.5 mill. That pricetag would put him squarely in the 4th option price range on our team. You can debate all you want as to whether he is or not, but don't forget he's been getting paid like a 2nd option for years. |

Take the source for what it's worth but if Hedo has indeed rejected the Blazer offer then they could target Odom next and actually offer him the 10 mil a year. _________________ Take away Kobe's skills, leadership, intangibles, and rings and add a couple inches, 40 pounds, and some jumping ability...and you're left with Lebron. |

Hedo got a big deal... I can't find any reason why he would reject it. |

(bleep), Hedo just rejected Portland's offer. I say we cave before Portland offers Odom 10 mil per and he accepts. |

Odom kind of makes sense for the Blazers and kind of doesn't. He's not really a SF anymore but they really have enough depth at SF to get by. One of the attractions for Turkoglu for them was the ability to play a point forward role which Odom can do. He's not going to get a ton of minutes behind Aldridge and they have Przybilla behind Oden.
It would make sense to try to swing Przybilla for more 2/3 depth and then use Odom in a trio with Aldridge and Oden like we do with Bynum/Gasol.
I hope they don't go after Odom but could see it happening. Or they could focus on a pure PG like Andre Miller. |

Toronto could be offering more which would of course put Marion in play. |

Just offer him 9 mil per and forget about Shannon Mitch. We'll worry about that next year |

Depends. If the difference is 8 vs 10, he might. Make it 9 so that he has to make a tougher decision. |
