As an European I just don't get this individualism and stars ball sucking that the NBA is about. |
Most of those threes game at the end in an attempt to cut the 10 + point deficit...
I say it again, too bad some of you cannot appreciate the heart of a true leader and legend... |
I appreciate his fight and his winning mentality. What I fail to appreciate is that he always has to act as the saviour. Tonight the shots were not going in and still he was jacking them left and right . Also his defense was non existent. He shouldn't had played at all. The team should always be more important than the individuals, but explaining that concept to most Americans is pretty hard. |
Keep that racist (bleep) out of here man. |

When Bynum or Gasol are doubled in the paint, and we're sucking from 3-pt land, then our perimeter guys need to make an effort to slash to the bucket off the double-team. Too many times, I've seen Bynum get doubled and watch him throw tough crosscourt passes to our perimeter players who are camping out at the 3-pt line and they proceed to clank 3-pointers. _________________ I Recommend VLC Player: http://www.videolan.org/ |

Racist, classic, nationalist, continentalist(?) Whatever, don't act like you're better than people cause you happen to have been born somewhere.
And yes racist probably isn't the correct term, but that describes your attitude. |

I agree but this was just "one of those games". Lakers would have had to play perfect and the way the officials were whistling ... even that wouldn't have been enough. |

Well, if we were going to lose one game on this road trip, this was the one. I can't believe Kobe got sick today. What are the chances of being injured the day before and getting sick the next day? What luck. Everything we couldn't afford to do if we wanted to win this game, we did. Sloppy play, bad defense, poor shooting, too many missed free throws, and poor effort overall. It just shows that the Lakers are there own worst enemy. Off to Chicago. _________________ Repeat Champs Baby!!! |

It's a bit of a funny coincidence that 3 of the 4 losses so far this season have come from 3 of the 4 opponents from last year's playoffs. Guess I can understand these teams come out very hungry for some sort of revenge even if it's just a regular season game. |

Umm no, these games are "revenge" games fabricated by the league in order to get the fans excited about their team. The league isn't just gonna sit and watch their fanbase dwindle down because they start to think their team can't compete. Rigged games happen every year. It's a business |

I'm not sure where you got officiating out of my post (I try not to get involved in the ref conspiracies here) but I don't think it's shocking that a team plays very hard against an opponent that knocked them out of the playoffs the prior year.
Also you can argue bad officiating in this game, but was it really that bad in the losses to Denver and Houston? I remember the Houston game in particular was just jacking up jump shots against a small Yao-less Rockets team. I almost forgot there were 7 footers on the team in that game. |

How was that racist?
Americans are individualists and would stab anyone in the back to get up the ladder.. maybe even a whole country like Iraq or Afghanistan etc..
No racism whatsoever.. |

I think the issue is that the structure of (some) Euro ball tends to do away with star-tiered offense to the point where it's has very little flair. Whether it's superior or inferior because of this is personal preference.
I think the guy who got flustered and used the wrong word did so because he felt the poster who wrote it was being a haughty European stereotyping Americans as selfish and also insulting his intelligence (ie: the implication was that an American can't possibly understand what a Euro knows about unselfishness). I enjoy your posts otherwise, Trey, but I think you followed suit. That accusation is very exaggerated and misapplied to American people instead of their elected leaders. |

I seriously dont get some of you. Its not like every one was doing great and kobe came and messed it up and lost the game for the lakers. Most of the shots he took were in the fourth quarter where the lead was already 16 points. So dont act like he came and messed the whole ish up. lakers were playing bad with kobe or with out kobe. This team should stepped up knowing kobe was sick and injured but what can i say they lost the game before it started. |

It shouldnt be that hard but many here are so conditioned by ESPN... its like trying to teach Quantum Physics to 1st graders... its just not worth it sometimes man.
The fact that he had what 13 shots until the game was out of reach and there were like 6min left in the game seems to go over their heads. What about the fact that Jazz increased the lead from 5 to 16 when Kobe sat? What about the same phenomena happening in the 1st Half when offense was running thru Pau? What happend then, geniuses? _________________ Alltime lineup: Magic | Kobe | MJ | Hakeem | KAJ |
