Can you load apps to the cloud and then stream from there when you want to use them?

Yeah I didn't know if it was from downloading the new iOS but I lost like 30% of my battery during that time.

I just saw the tests done for everything except the 5C and 5S. But since the 5 and 5C have the same guts it's probably the same deal. 5S? Who knows

Glad I read this before installing the update.

Edit: Actually, after reading up on it real quick, it's not that bad. You can turn off certain features to increase your battery life.

iPhone upgraded. New look is okay love the new multitasking interface.

Can't upgrade my iPad for some reason. Downloaded the upgrade, but when it tries to verify it before installing it tells me the upgrade isn't available. No idea what's going on.

I downloaded this morning and over 4 hours later I'm still at 96%, so my battery life seems just fine on my iPhone 5.

Pretty nice update. I'm really enjoying the new design. The battery life still kinda sucks though.

Liez

Believe what you want.

I'm going to go by my own actual experience.

So far, there's been no noticeable difference in the speed at which my battery declines.

Not really a fan of the new look. Some of the colors hurt my eyes, especially against all that white background. It'd be nice if they had included some kind of palette for customization. The 2D icons seem like a step back. Some of the new transition effects are cool though.

I'm trying to get excited about anything in the new software (upgrading my 4S), but for the most part it seems like a bunch of minor enough tweaks.

i downloaded the update, and turned off the features that people listed to help save battery life.

I'm on a 5 and haven't noticed any drastic battery draining yet.

Only app that doesn't work for me is Chess with Friends and thats more Zyngas fault than anything.

I've been using it plenty. I just do the things that help preserve battery life. The new OS has had a little effect on my battery life, but nothing big.

Agree with DMR here. Shut all the (bleep) down you don't use, and you'll be fine, battery speaking. Though, I don't play Candy Crunch or Angry Birds or whatever else all day. I just use my phone for texting, occasionally checking FB, and posting stupid (bleep) on LG. I like the new update quite a bit.

^I had resisted upgrading to 7 since I thought I'd hate the new interface without the skeumorphic design. Wasn't a fan of the new colors and icons, but the more I read about the functionality, I decided to take the plunge. If it didn't work out, I'd probably move to a different OS completely.

I've got to hand it to Jony Ives and the team, iOS 7 is (expletive) fantastic. It will take a little getting used to the new icons, but overall it's very well done and I won't miss the skeumorphism at all. Control panel with quick access to flashlight, calc, timer, and camera is superb. Safari's improved. New camera functions. To remove apps from memory by flicking them off the screen is better than I expected, no longer will I need to 'x' them out. Finally some new ringtones that are much improved vs classic, also liked the customization for non-audio alerts.

Bravo Apple. Btw, agree with DMR and LM, I can confirm that the battery life on it is about the same as before.

Design, usability, and beauty is becoming more and more important since ALL mobile devices have already become super powerful i.e. pretty much as powerful as everyday mobile computers.

That is why companies like Samsung/LG/etc. have already had their very short-lived hey-day and Apple is once again back on top. Samsung = crap margins, crap design, crap build quality. They can't create the buzz that Apple creates. They are a manufacturing company, they have no marketing expertise. You think it was by sheer luck that Jobs was able to create this marketing empire? It's called mad skills.

The 5S and 5C are going to sell like crazy and the new device they intro next year will likely destroy the competition on all fronts.

A big reason why phablets exist is that nobody can make a tablet worth a damn except for Apple. What is Samsung going to do? Keep increasing the screen size? Where's the limit? What's next for them?

Look, everyone is making a nice handset. Samsung, HTC, Apple and the rest all make nice handsets. But those who try to bring Apple down get served each and every time.
