Just as there are haters for every great player.

You do realize Kobe had the 2nd most votes in the All-star and do you know realize the NBA is gonna pick not the fans. |
Huh?!? What are you saying?
That was hard to decipher. On the one hand, you say that Kobe has the 2nd most votes in the All-Star game (the fans vote the starters into the All-Star game). And on the other hand, you're saying it's the NBA who picks the top 60 NBA players, not the fans. What does one have to do with the other?? _________________ I'm like a Hadouken, down-right Fierce! |

Unless I'm actually participating in the hating, I doubt I actually live in a world just for hating.
But, there are people who do hate upon great players, and unless they're living in some different alternate world, I don't see how they are not a part of this one where everyone lives _________________ I'm like a Hadouken, down-right Fierce! |

The NBA as an organization doesn't hate Kobe. The NBA as an organization loves Kobe. I know its cool for Laker fans to believe that the world is against Kobe and the Lakers, and when it comes to the media, that may be the case. But for the NBA....Kobe is still the poster child. The NBA revolves around Kobe.
If the media is picking the players, then Kobe makes it. Even Mariotti said Kobe is a top 20 player of all time and Woody said he was top 15. Those two are the biggest Kobe haters I've ever seen and they rank Kobe higher historically than many Laker fans rate Kobe.
If the TNT crew picks, Kobe might get left off....cause charles barkley is a moron. |

Well, I just cant see anyone leaving him off top 60 of all time? Think about it, can u name 60 players in history better than Kobe, Able to do the things he can do?, Score the way he does, have as many rings as he does? grant hill made the list 10 years ago, and if they did it today, he may not be on there. Would TMAC make it??????????????????[/b
[b]Would KG make it??? |

I think he makes it easily. There are a lot of players that he is already better than that are on the top 50 list. |

You say Kobe leads in All-star votes (voting done by fans). Then you say NBA is gunna pick the top 60, so what exactly are you saying? Your 'point' makes no sense. I do believe he will be put on that list, but like others have said it's not a sure thing considering the NBA. |

I hope they bump a couple, even if it's to add someone from back in the
day (that second part wouldn't ever happen though).
My guess is they leave the 50, add the 10.
But I happened to have disagreed with 2 or 3 selections in their original 50. |

LBJ is in his 3rd year of NBA ball.
I know the NBA's on his jock, but o way do they put him in the "60 Greatest."
They'll have a "70 Greatest" 10 years from now and it's a decent bet LeBron will have his chance then.
Oh and Kobe not only has alot more years to judge a career by, but he's got 3 rings. |

Well... let's see... 62 in 3 quarters. 81 in a game. 3 rings...
The NBA loses all credibility if they exclude him.
Not some...
ALL.
You wanna live in a world where you believe they'll do anything to screw over Kobe... go right ahead. They may begrudingly accept he's one of the greats... but they can't avoid him. |
True Dat! Kobe is undeniable. he's the most polarizing figure in the league if not all of sports. He's the best player in the game today. Once he brings our Lakers back to a parade on Figueroa and Chick Hearn Court he will start to receive similar adulation from the media and public at large that Mike J received after his first 3-peat(yeah I said it 3-peat. I mean damn the boys got 3 rings already, and a fourth without Shaq will not only cement his place in history but will prove that Dr. Buss was not shermed out when he traded Shaq. And poor Mitch wouldn't have to put a gun to his head every night a'la Martin Riggs in "Lethal Weapon"). David Stern has a nose for finding (or lucking into) the right players to market for the betterment of the league. Kobe is on the verge of being that player. The saying goes, the more you go through the better story you have to tell, and Mr. 81 has a hell of a story already.
Can you imagine the headline....
LORD OF THE RING
Bryant leads Lakers back to Title
No way D. Stern is missing that boat
Kobe in the top 60?
Yes. Mr. Frodo deserves it.

Kobe has 3 rings and has the 2nd highest score ever in the NBA. Highest out of non-bigmen.
It's not about making the cut with Kobe - rather how high on that list he should be. |
