Quote:
Knicks Showed LeBron Math Of How He'd Earn More Money In New York

During their meeting with LeBron James, the Knicks showed the free agent how much more money he could possibly earn while playing in New York.

Interbrand says it ran through 50,000 computer models of a potential LeBron career, using more than 200 variables like individual performance, fan demographics and championships. The report is light on the details of its methodology, but comes to this conclusion: LeBron has a 50% chance of earning at least $1 billion in New York. In Cleveland and Chicago the odds fall to 1%. The study put a 0% chance of LeBron making $1 billion playing for Miami.

An NBA title in New York could be worth $240 million to LeBron, according to Interbrand, about $60 million more than if he brought a ring home to Cleveland, and more than double the value of a Chicago championship.

LeBron could potentially earn as much as $2 billion while playing in New York.

The estimate dwarfed the $700 million he’d likely earn in Cleveland, the $690 million in Chicago, and $600 million in Miami.

Has anyone else noted that until June 30th, there was one major Lebron leak per day, with each day pointing to a different city?

This is a carefully orchestrated farce directed by the biggest douchebag to have ever laced 'em up.

So Lebron thanks the Knicks for the data predictions, signs with the Brooklyn Nets and makes his billion dollars.

I wonder if that there little computer program thingy calculated the odds of Lebron, Boozer and Galinari winning a championship or if that was simply assumed.

How the heck does he make more in Cleveland than Chicago?

Also, I wonder if that model also applies if Lebron plays with the Nets.

Honestly, if Lebron played for the Knicks, I think he could average 35+ points per game... easily.

Pretty much. Lebron says his goal is to be a billionaire, not to win championships

This is a big deal. If someone told you that what would you do?

I mean if NY gets Lebron and Stoudamire they can be a very balanced team...

Knicks Say LeBron Meeting Was 'Great'

The Knicks came away feeling good about their presentation to LeBron James on Thursday.

"I thought it went great," one Knicks' official told the New York Daily News. "Great."

Owner James Dolan attended the meeting and his willingness to pay the league's luxury tax, and track record of doing so, is certainly an asset in the chase to bring James to New York.

The owner is not going to be pleased if the team is unable to secure the top prize of this summer's free-agent class.

"Jim is the wild card," one league official said. "If LeBron doesn't come, Jim is not going to be happy. He's not going to be thinking about next year. He's going to be upset. Very upset."

Cavalier Employees Picket LeBron's Free-Agent Meetings?

Employees of the Cavaliers held up "taunting signs" outside the building in which LeBron James was meeting with the Nets and Knicks as a free agent on Thursday.

The meetings were conducted in downtown Cleveland at the offices of James' marketing firm, LRMR, a business that is run by his longtime friend and advisor Maverick Carter.

Quote:
Clippers Feel Meeting With LeBron Went 'Very Well'

The Clippers met with free agent LeBron James in Cleveland on Friday and came away positive about their chances.

"We can only surmise how the meeting went from our standpoint, and from our standpoint, it went very well. We approached it in a very honest and direct way, and we felt that their reaction was considerate and receptive," general manager Neil Oshley said in a press release.

"We're not going to go into any details about the meeting's specifics. But it was our goal to present tangible and very obvious reasons as to why we think LeBron choosing our organization is his best option: we clearly have the best team already in place for him to join, we have the best city, the best arena, the best practice facility – overall the best situation."

"By communicating all of that in a sincere way, we accomplished our preliminary goal."

"Now what we can do is wait and see how it all resonates, plus continue to be comprehensive in our efforts to improve our team for the upcoming season."

"No matter what, we're getting at least one great new player this summer: his name is Blake Griffin."

Report: Knicks Virtually Eliminated By LeBron

The Knicks have been virtually eliminated from contention for LeBron James, according to a report from Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski.

James' camp categorized New York's presentation as 'lacking preparedness and organization.'

Aspects of the Nets' presentation earlier on Thursday were similar in nature to New York's and were 'sharper' and 'edgier'.

James has reservations about the possibility of his earning potential being greater in New York than in Cleveland to make up a $30M difference in salary.

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade are discussing joining the same team, most likely in Chicago or Miami.

But if the two perennial MVP candidates are unable to reach an agreement, sources believe they are most likely to remain with their current teams.

Knicks Dispute They're Out Of LeBron Hunt, Suggest Ulterior Motives

http://images.nymag.com/daily/intel/20090707_lebron_250x385.jpg

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports went on the air with Michael Kay on ESPN Radio to discuss points he made in a story Wojnarowski published Friday.

In that story, Wojnarowski wrote that the Knicks had been virtually eliminated from the race to sign LeBron James and that he was unimpressed with New York's presentation to him Thursday.

Shortly after the segment with Wojnarowski, a representative of the Knicks called Kay to refute the Wojnarowski story and the claims made by his sources. Further, the Knicks suggested that someone may be attempting to undermine their chances to sign James. The team stated that its presentation to James was successful and apparently well received.

Late in the day Friday, Donnie Walsh commented on the subject.

"I have not heard that from anybody that's connected with that camp," Walsh said about James' business team reportedly not liking what they heard, and saw, from the Knicks.

Wojnarowski includes claims that James was turned off by Walsh's need to use a wheelchair due to a neck ailment, and that James was similarly deflated by owner James Dolan's appearance.

There have been rumblings in recent days that those closest to James are concerned about him playing for the Knicks and what implications that might hold for the power balance around the superstar. There have been some indications that Maverick Carter, James' closest friend, is opposed to a move to the Knicks.

Wojnarowski at first mentions James' inner circle and then cites anonymous sources regarding James' opinion of the meeting. It is unclear what position these generic "sources" hold since Wojnarowski does not describe their relationship to James, or their particular knowledge of James' reactions to the presentation from New York.

Cavs Will Take More Playful Approach In Meeting With LeBron

he Cavaliers will meet with LeBron James on Saturday morning.

Dan Gilbert, GM Chris Grant and Byron Scott will be the principles in the meeting, though other members of the organization will also be in attendance.

The Cavaliers have met with James several times since they were eliminated from the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

In contrast to the lengthy and serious presentations that James has seen by rival teams, the Cavaliers intend to keep the tone lighter and play towards his 'humor and playfulness'.

Nevertheless, the Cavaliers have spent a significant amount of money and time in creating their presentation.

Scott will speak to LeBron about the kind of system he intends to run to suit his game and enhance the team's chances of winning.

Grant will talk about the type of personnel moves that can be made to improve his supporting cast.

Cleveland believes they can put together a package that the Raptors would find attractive, if Bosh is open to coming to the franchise.

Dwyane Wade will meet with the Bulls for a second time in two days on Friday and his interest is genuine, according to a source.

James is interested in playing with Wade, but is reluctant to play for the Heat, according to a source.

“D-Wade and LeBron want to play together, but neither one wants to commit to each other,” a source with knowledge of the conversations told Yahoo! Sports on Friday.

Chicago is hoping to secure a commitment from Wade before meeting with James, according to sources.
