Drafting .. and coaching culture.
Spurs drafted Splitter, Leonard, etc.
They have the same core trio TD/TP/EG
They have same coach, who looks for guys who can fit the defensive role player mold.
If we had kept our core and PJ was still coach, drafted well, we'd probably still be where the Spurs are. But PJ retired, Lamar went bat (bleep) crazy after a failed CP3 trade, and Jim Buss runs the asylum now hiring guys like MB and MDA. |
I thought Mike Brown was better then MDA to be honest. He had us at 3rd in the west if i recall correctly with ok roster. MDA was just booted from NY from all places and they decided it was a good idea bring him here lol. He ran our players into the ground, and possibly ended Kobe's career.
I wonder if is this team can bounce back in time to give Kobe a shot at one more ring. I don't think just bringing in melo or Love is enough with all the holes in management, coaching, and the roster currently |
