Freese better start Game 5 and stay in the game for 4-5 at bats. And I would put Martin out there too over Will Smith.
And the Lux experiment needs to end. I feel bad for the kid, he was thrown to the wolves. How did we expect him to do against Scherzer and Strasburg in his first ever postseason? _________________ |

7 years of NLDS/NLCS failures combined with 2 WS loses |
But in all seriousness, I feel pretty good with Buehler on the mound. He's proven himself in these moments and our lineup is much better than theirs so long as we show patience at the plate (I'm looking at you Seager). |
I wish i could feel as excited as you. One playoff series we had grienke (i believe before we let him go) and i was happy we brought the series back only to get whipped around again. I am as worried as way G7 2010 NBA Finals |
We didn't really get whipped around...think we lost by a run. We had a lead in the 7th, I believe, until we decided not to cover 3rd base on a walk letting the tying run get to 3rd. And that was the year Daniel Murphy just went off...think he hit like 7 home runs between the NLDS and the NLCS.
And hey, game 7 of the 2010 finals turned out alright
Just gotta have faith man. |
I had alot of faith before but its gone.. i wont be able to see the game as it is. Jewish holiday, lets hope i come home to good news _________________ Indianapolis Colts

The decision slapped of overconfidence (doubt they really anticipated a Game 5). Rios had more of a case to make the roster, IMO. |

This NLDS feels eerily similar to the 2015 NLDS, where we went in as heavy favorites against the Mets with Kershaw/Greinke but our offense was shut down by their aces deGrom and Syndergaard.
I'm hoping for a better result this time. For this team to flame out in the NLDS would be inexcusable. _________________ |

Has there been a playoffs during this 7 yr run where our offense didn't flame out? |

I wouldn't say the offense flamed out in 2017, World Series Game 7 aside. The bigger problem that year was the pitching in the World Series. _________________ |

True. If our pitching did its job we wouldn't have even see a game 7. We may have even finished it in 5. |

Crazy to think Alex Wood was probably our best starting pitcher in that World Series |

Rich Hill did well and I believe he matched up with verlander both times. Kershaw did well in game 1. It was just game 4 Kersh plus Darvish that killed us. |

I think home field is overrated in games like this in baseball. I still want it but it doesn’t make me feel much better. |

I do feel better about this game 5 than I felt about game 5 at Washington in 2016. That was on the road with Rich Hill on 3 days rest against Matt Scherzer who brought his A game. Scherzer was on full rest. I felt much worse about that game going into it.
After facing Kershaw, Ryu and Hill the Nationals might feel like Buehler throws fastballs at 110 mph. He is the only power pitcher in the rotation. |

We need to get a hit in the first inning or two so the crowd gets into it and the hitters see that Stras isn’t invincible. |

Even with the offensive struggles I think pitching was a bigger issue against the Cubs too. And against the Red Sox in the World Series. Boston scored 8, 4, 9 and 5 runs in its wins. The Cubs scored 8, 10, 8 and 5 runs in games they beat the Dodgers in the 2016 NLCS. That is way too many.
And if Kershaw was better in the playoffs, an occasional extra win can be all it takes to put a team over the top. It’s a different World Series if he could beat the Red Sox, and he lost a lot of games to the Cardinals including one game with a 6-1 blown lead. And nobody has forgotten about the Astros game.
The team just hasn’t played well enough overall whether it’s pitching or hitting. |

Would be nice to score more than one run in an inning off a starter. A 2 run inning against a Nationals starter has NOT happened yet. Milwaukee did it off of Scherzer. |

Well yeah. I just meant that this team tends to rally well. So we need one guy to get it started and build the confidence. Like in game 3 with Belli |

Corbin: 6 innings, 1 earned run
Strasberg: 6 innings, 1 earned run
Sanchez: 5 innings, 1 earned run
Scherzer: 7 innings, 1 earned run
Note: Corbin gave up 2 runs total thanks to an error by Kendrick, and I’m not including his bullpen outing obviously
Nationals starters: 1.50 era
Usually when you see numbers like that, one wouldn’t expect it to be a 2-2 series. Even the Astros starters had 2 bad starts in 4 games. |

Anything is possible, I didn't think there would be a game 5 vs the Nationals.
The Dodgers hitting has been unpredictable from game to game. |

Nationals starting pitching is really freaking good, what they have to do is take pitches and get that pitch count up, then the Dodgers can do what they usually do! Good thing we have Walker, he can go toe to toe with Any pitcher anyone throws out there.
Should be a stressful game, but if they can get that pitch count high, Dodgers will win big. |

Our collective bats are ***. Their freaking approach is so annoying. Hunting for fastballs against every type of pitcher? Do they know how to make adjustments? |

Yea, I think it depends on the home, as in which park is their home.
I just want our bats to be alive tomorrow.
And I'd love for Seager to not swing at a first pitch that's out of the strike zone.
I'd love it if the dodgers had less than 8 strikeouts in their total ABs. |
