The last team was................bad-dum-TS...The 2001 Spurs! We beat them by 39 in game 3 and 29 in game 4 in the WCF and swept them. They had everyone at full strength. And we humiliated them. In front of the entire planet. That hurt so much, they'll never forget it. _________________

Hopefully we won't have to hear about "Finally back to .500!" and "Season starts tomorrow" anymore. |
If we play .500 ball all season I'll be a satisfied fan. |

I don't see how that is accurate, when Duncan is considered doubt for tonight's game.... I will without hesitation bet on the Lakers covering the spread. |

No I was not- That team had no passion or heart. If this team plays like they want to be Lakers and show heart- but still lose- I'm ok with that. |

I hope Duncan plays, I wanna see how our team matches up with the Spurs at full strength.
if we win tonight, then I think the bar is set high for this Lakers team, the Spurs made the Grizzles look like a lottery team, I hope that doesn't happen to us. |
This is true, they (bleep) slapped them hard. |

Spurs are a well oiled machine with or without Duncan. They almost beat Miami last year without Duncan, Ginobili and Parker. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |

But can they guard Westbrook? |

For those who are happy that Duncan isn't playing, look at the stats in the original post from the last Spurs game. _________________

There's the same chance to win this as with the Clips. Our bigs can beat theirs, esp. with a half or no Duncan. That opens the door for some good guard play and the live and die by the outside shot. If it falls we win. |

Doesn't matter Timmy D abuses Pau every time he plays against us. |

Spurs will be fine without Duncan. The amount of weapons they've assembled is very impressive, with more than a couple good shooters. Even without him, this is a very tough game, and if we aren't hitting our threes, we could be in for a long night. |

Strange how people think that. Prior to last season, Pau played Duncan extremely well using his length. A big reason we made the finals Pau's first year was his d on Timmy. Last season with Pau's mobility limited, Duncan killed us, but before that he was a great defender on him. |

The Lakers, deserve to beat the Spurs without Duncan, just as the Spurs were beating us with a Morris/Duhon backcourt in the playoffs... |
