Luka battled out there. Injured, didn't play well for the first 3 quarters, but he took over in the 4th.
It's really advantageous that the Mavs' 2 stars are both really good options to go to in the clutch. They didn't even use Kyrie in the clutch this game.
Well well well Flopic eke's out a win with of course, incredible help from the refs as usual.

lakers gonna have to fight hard to make the play-in
If the lakers didn't focus on throwing away every young talent they draft, this would be so much easier. I daresay even a guy like Mo Wagner would look good next to AD. He does all the dirty work and is so underappreciated on the Magic. _________________ Yi Jianlian Fanboy. Respect The Chair.

I would just blow it up and start the rebuild.
That's one way to look at it. To me the league seems like there's a lot of parity but I don't see a KD Warriors level dominant team. The Lakers do need to make some upgrades but given how good LeBron & AD were, I don't think the Lakers are that far off. But the big elephant in the room is any potential decline in LeBron which can come fast any year. Is he gonna shoot 41.6% from 3 again?
I don't remember them interviewing players after the eastern conference final game one. Did they? Did I miss that?
They show them on NBA TV. Espn will usually show the after game interview during Sports Center, but the media with other guys is usually on NBA TV _________________ Previously LBJ23

We have no vision. A good front office could do a soft transition. Instead they only shoot for home runs vs really solid.
Look at the rosters out there.at the top they (other teams) are as good or better. The rest of the starters are superior to ours by miles.
It’s certainly fun watching Luka, kyrie ant, but the supporting casts are dope.
Gafford was underrated on the Wiz. It's nice to see people appreciating him. Watching him on league pass, I knew some team would take the chance on him.
Lively is just 20 but still a perpetual lob threat for Luka. Bright future ahead.
In theory, Mavs should be contending as long as Luka and Kyrie are healthy. _________________ Yi Jianlian Fanboy. Respect The Chair.

Sorry I wasn't clear - yes and sometimes I watch those. I don't mean the post-game pressors they always do. I mean they had Kyrie on Inside the NBA on TNT after the game. I don't remember ESPN having anybody from the eastern conference finals after the game but you know the West is better so lol _________________ #Welp
I actually feel a LITTLE more optimistic than last year because teams are winning more because of their supporting casts than the superstars just carrying.
Last year, the Nuggets won because Jokic played at a level above every other star. If LeBron or AD had to play at THAT level to win, I don't think the Lakers could compete.
But do the Lakers have it in them to not only completely remake the supporting cast, but do it correctly?
That's why I'm only a little more optimistic. It's still at least better than requiring a top tier number 1.
If the Celtics win, I straight up believe the Lakers have better stars.

Lol.
On ESPN they usually do that interview live during Sports Center or the SPV show. I didn't watch after the game yesterday so not sure.

Exactly. The Lakers have 3 first rounders. Setting blockbusters aside, they can use one first rounder to try to upgrade three of the bigger salaries they have (Vincent, Vanderbilt, Russell if he re-signs, Rui, Reaves). Remember the Nuggets traded for Gordon with Gary Harris, the 24 pick, and a protected FRP. They traded Will Barton & Monte Morris to get KCP (no picks!).
One example is ChickenStu's suggestion of Vincent/FRP for Caruso. Does Chicago bite? No idea, but the point is that's a small trade that has a huge improvement, as the Lakers get an elite defensive guard who can close games when LeBron decides to play point guard.
What can you get with Rui/1st? What about for Russell (if he opts in, or S&T, or midseason trade) /JHS/1st?
The biggest concern I have is the Lakers desperately need a shotmaker when the offense stalls. LeBron has not been that guy for a few years. But those dudes tend to be pretty coveted (see: Donovan Mitchell) and will deplete the Lakers' ability to make smaller trades.

If we had traded for Kyrie instead of DLO, we would have won last season and been where the Mavs are right now this season. Huge blunder. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
