Boxing News: Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Fight Announced for 2024
One of the biggest fights in boxing history could see a rematch. MATHEW RIDDLEJAN 3, 2024 10:40 AM EST
Love PacMan but this is Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones (of course imma pay and watch it)
Really speaks poorly about the state of boxing. Imagine if the NBA scheduled a Paul Pierce vs Dwayne Wade 1 on 1 for next all star weekend.
Fighterwise these are two old geezers but there's intrigue. Pacman could hand Floyd his first loss. It wouldn't count against his W/L record but it would put a chink in his legacy. If the fight happens I bet the PPV gate will set records. I wouldn't bet against Pacman
You are right. It would set PPV records.
Betting against Pacman would be the one thing I'd do. I have a buddy who bet on Mayweather to win his last 10-15 fights. And my friend never fails to brag about it whenever he sees me.
If Mayweather fights again. I'm making some $ too. And I hope there are alot of people betting Pacman. So I get a better payout. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

Neither Wilder or Joshua feel worth watching. Wilder should’ve retired a while ago. And Joshua fights so robotically.
Ngannou faces former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in a 10-round bout on March 8 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Despite being MMA’s lineal heavyweight champion and nearly defeating Tyson Fury in his professional boxing debut, Ngannou once again finds himself poised as a heavy underdog in the contest, with Joshua set as high as a 5-to-1 favorite on some sportsbooks. But “The Predator,” as always, remains undeterred.
Speaking recently on the High Performance podcast, Ngannou responded to a pre-fight promise of Joshua’s regarding a quote about breaking Ngannou’s spirit and taking his soul.
“They say never say never. Nothing is impossible, right?” the former UFC heavyweight champion said. “We don’t know the strength of Anthony Joshua, but even though I don’t believe he has that strength, but we’re going to find out in two months. We’re going to find out, and I think the reverse is going to happen. I’m going to be the one taking his soul.”
Ngannou arguably should've won that Fury fight. But Fury didn't look like he prepped for that fight the way he prepped for those Wilder fights. If Fury shows up like that against Usyk in May. He'll lose.
I think Joshua wins against Ngannou. If its close the judges will give it to him. I don't think much of Joshua as a boxer. But he's much more polished than Ngannou. A knockout wouldn't surprise me. _________________ "Every hurt is a lesson, and every lesson makes you better”

Fury didn't win a 5 round fight against Ngannou
But I also don't think Fury would win a full fight against Joshua
Joshua fought Usyk twice and Fury avoids him...
I only saw Joshua Ruiz
Ngannou doesn't waste any punches
Hopefully it's a great fight no matter who wins
I think these pros no matter how much they prepare are gonna be confused by how hard he hits them

Joshua doesn’t have granite chin, he better dances the whole fight or it’ll be Ruiz part deux _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“

Ngannou was robbed. I thought he beat the Gypsy King. It's all about the Benjamins. Fury has the name. If Joshua thinks he's going to a picnic he'd better beware. He might end up being the lunch.

REMINDER
I hope this is true. I honestly want this fight to happen.
Quote:
When will Francis Ngannou fight again? That is a question with an easy answer. Ngannou is scheduled to fight Anthony Joshua on March 8 in Saudi Arabia. His last fight, which was against Tyson Fury, took place on October 28.

Looks like Canelo-Charlo is off and Canelo has no opponent for his May 4th fight:
Quote:
Canelo Alvarez's interminable search for May 4 opponent has become ridiculous
Canelo Alvarez has to fight someone, right?
The undisputed 168-pound champion and elite power broker is expected to defend his titles on May 4 — only two-plus months from now — in Las Vegas but no clear choice has emerged.
Jermall Charlo:
Quote:
First, it was Jermall Charlo. It seemed all but certain that Alvarez would face the 160-pound titleholder in his second fight with Premier Boxing Champions, particularly after Alvarez announced he would take on an “American.”
Only it didn’t happen for whatever reason. Now it appears Alvarez has moved on. He reportedly has split with PBC, which represents Charlo.
Jaime Munguia:
Quote:
Then unbeaten 168-pound contender Jaime Munguia of Mexico emerged as a leading candidate in spite of Alvarez’s “American” comment.
Promoter Eddie Hearn, who is affiliated with DAZN, has pushed for an Alvarez-Munguia fight. ESPN even reported that Alvarez had agreed to face his countryman, who knocked out John Ryder on Jan. 27.
Still, no announcement has been made. And Oscar De La Hoya, Munguia’s promoter, said he doesn’t believe the fight will happen.
Quote:
“No chance. I don’t think so, I really don’t,” De La Hoya told combat sports writer Ariel Helwani. The comment doesn’t mean that Munguia is off the table — who believes promoters? — but it raises doubt.
Edgar Berlanga:
Quote:
Now speculation surrounds Edgar Berlanga, who created a buzz by starting his career with 16 consecutive first-round knockouts. He’s coming off a sixth-round stoppage of Padraig McCrory, which was emphatic but didn’t mean much given McCrory’s limitations.
Hearn said an Alvarez-Berlanga fight will happen but he didn’t say when. Berlanga has said he wants to fight Alvarez and his aggressive style would suit the champion’s. However, he would be perceived as a pushover for Alvarez, which might alienate fans and limit viewership.
Some might say the same about Munguia, although he’s much farther along than Berlanga is.
Terrence Crawford:
Quote:
Pound-for-pound king Terence Crawford was mentioned as a candidate — one who would generate considerable interest — but Alvarez made it clear that he doesn’t want to face an opponent who would be moving up three weight classes for the fight.
David Benavidez:
Quote:
David Benavidez? Forget it.
The former two-time 168-pound pound champ might be the only realistic opponent who could generate the kind of money Alvarez demands before he steps into the ring.
The problem is that Alvarez isn’t ready to accept that challenge, which is obvious to Benavidez. The contender has agreed to move up to 175 to face former beltholder Oleksandr Gvozdyk, although they are still working out details.
Boxing writer Dan Rafael reported that PBC was willing to pay Alvarez the money he wanted to fight Charlo but only if he also agreed to face Benavidez in September.
The fact Alvarez severed ties with PBC clearly indicates that he wasn’t interested in such an arrangement, which makes us wonder whether Alvarez-Benavidez will ever happen.
Conclusion:
Quote:
So to take inventory:
Alvarez has one potential opponent (Charlo) with whom he couldn’t reach terms, two (Munguia and Berlanga) who wouldn’t inspire the fans, one (Crawford) who is too small and one (Benavidez) who many believe Alvarez is going out of his way to avoid.
All of this leaves us exasperated and less and less interested in Alvarez’s next fight, unless he shocks everyone by facing Benavidez.
De La Hoya used the word “mess” to describe the situation. That’s exactly what it is.
‼️ Canelo Alvarez vs Jaime Munguia is reportedly now close to being agreed for Canelo’s undisputed WBA, WBC, IBF & WBO super-middleweight world titles on May 4th in Las Vegas. [According to

if its like the Roy Jones fight then its just a show. no one gets hurt. But if both guys go hard, unless Mike connects early I just feel like JP is too big and strong.
