Wow the cynicism in this topic is overwhelming, not the greatest testament to loyalty on this site...especially from the eyes of a new member

Who will have a career game against the Lakers tonight? My predicition is Martell Webster.

Key match up for the Lakers tonight is Andrew Bynum vs. Juwan Howard. Bynum should have a career game against Howard or something is seriously wrong.

Yeah no kidding. Lost there twice with Pau last season, and haven't won there since Feb '05. Don't want to say they're guaranteed a loss tonight, but I can't see many of us holding our breath for a win.

Lakers will win tonight, I'm pretty sure of that. They don't stand much of a chance with Roy and Bayless out.

If they dont win tonight without Brandon Roy playing then the team should just hang themselves.

You'd think that's enough but the problem with the Lakers here isn't so much the Blazers roster, but the Arena. Everytime they step into building, they're automatically scared. Every second they play here, the bad losing streak is always lingering in their minds, and they play that much worse because of it. Hell they can even play a good 3 quarters a lot of times here, but when it comes to the stretch, no one can hit their shots or get the stops. It just isn't hard to beat an opponent that already feels defeated before the game even begins.

I am going to the game tonight, once again, after many many years, showing that I bleed purple and gold even in a hostile environment. Honestly, after going to most of the last 9 meetings up here in Portland, I am due for a win, but I know how much the Blazers fans (6th man) get up for the game and how obnoxious they can be, which pumps the team up immensely. Even though Roy isn't playing, that won't matter. Kobe looked beat up at the end of last night's game against Denver. With all Kobe's injuries, and it being a back to back against another playoff potential team, and the Lakers not lookingup to par, and with that aforementioned 6th man of the Blazers, I predict.....

Drum roll please...

.....that the Lakers will win!

That is, as long as "the rusty-ass machine" doesn't play. Gawd he looked horrible last night.

I wouldn't... I think they grind out a win tonight.

But, it won't be easy in Portland... place has become Utah-light in terms of ref preferential treatment.

Well they had half their roster out last time we faced them and we still got blown out. It's really hard to be optimistic about this game and the team for that matter right now.

+ Fernandez
+ Bantum
- Roy

The opposition will take that trade off any day. Roy is a true superstar or at least very close to being one. Bayless is playing tonight though, my mistake earlier.

Still, Lakers will win this one.

lets see of laker players not names kobe can muster enough pride to show that they are worthy of wearing the laker uniform and get a win tonight, after getting snipped by the nuggets last night they owe US laker fans a good showing and that championship effort yet to be seen so far this year....lets go lakers

The Lakers have been consistently awful in Portland over the years, so I'd actually take an inconsistent performance from the Lakers this time around.

Another back to back. When you think about it, this is merely and extension of our road trip. 5 back to backs in 10 days, does that sound right or was there another day off in there somewhere?

I believe we're winning it tonight.

We must control tempo.
We must use our advantages to our advantage.
We must run the offense.
We must MOVE and CUT and execute the triangle offense - not just STAND AROUND and WATCH.
We must stay disciplined and not shoot early jumpers without exploring the inside game first.
Drew and Pau must be aggressive early - not just with their shooting, but in establishing post position.

We must rebound from all positions.
We must box-out.
We must bring energy on defense.
We must be aware on the weak-side defense - see man and ball.
We must communicate on defense.
We must make quick, decisive rotations.
We must help the helper.
