Personal attacks (example: "PNP is an idiot!") in the thread title or if the thread becomes infested with them.
Redundant threads (although we often merge those), especially during games.
Trolling or pointless threads (examples: "I hate Kobe!" or "3 Lakers hate cheese")
Threads about or morphing into forbidden topics like religion and politics.

Escalating name calling and personal attacks. I deleted the worst and locked the thread to prevent further escalation. If posters could stick to the topic without making it personal, it wouldn't have been locked. |

Escalating name calling and personal attacks. I deleted the worst and locked the thread to prevent further escalation. If posters could stick to the topic without making it personal, it wouldn't have been locked. |
Don't you guys can just delete those posts instead and leave a warning message to warn other posters? Than to lock the thread up and noone else can make an opinion on it

Yes, we could do that. But we also had about 10 reports tonight of people attacking one another and calling each other names. Posters here have to take responsibility for being adults -- we can't babysit every post in every thread. And this thread was headed in the wrong direction with newbies predictably coming out of the woodwork to add fuel to the fire. |

Lol. Alright, you're right again Mrs. ChefLinda.  I admit, I was a bit of part of it tonight too.. 
But I think w/o those people that stir up trouble, you would run of things to do on here tho.  Plus, we would miss you telling us "warning" and such. It would be lonely.

I didn't know they started today so I missed most of them Fortunately most of the folks I'm interested in are scheduled for tomorrow, but that's the kind of info I come to LG for so it was disappointing that the thread was locked & falling down the page.... |

Hello mods, I noticed that the 2015 All-Star voting thread has been locked up.
I've been posting bits of updates as they occur and was hoping to keep it going until the ASG. I noticed that some name calling had occurred between various Kobe and Lin fans and detractors, which I'm guessing is the reason for the lock.
Is there a possibility of reopening this thread? I believe that as the ASG approaches, posters will have more to contribute.
Since I started this thread, I have a vested interest in seeing it succeed. I promise to do whatever I can to keep the discussions civil and respectful.
