Congrats to Kobe! Nice to see that the top 3 scorers in NBA history have worn a Lakers jersey, and it's extra special that Kobe has scored all of his points as a Laker. |

It did. LG is just about as bad as Yahoo sports right now. |
The main problems are the "objective" douches who have to tell you exactly how little Kobe has be respected. And exactly how much better everyone else is than him.
Most of these guys are obvious troll fans of other teams. |
Exactly! And yet they're stupid enough to think that people can't see right thru them. Even in this thread certain posters still had to qualify their respect for Kobe's game. |

Insane accomplishment. I was also gratified that the Wolves took a TO so he could celebrate the moment and keep the game ball. Unfortunately, it's sounding like Malone will likely be out of reach, but third all time is astounding. All time great, Kobe Bryant. Top ten, easy, and I wouldn't argue too hard if someone suggested top five. |

Congrats Kobe!! Well deserved.
Growing up a Laker fan true and true... watching Kobe when I was 12 until now... just amazing. Jordan was great, but I'll always see Kobe as better since he's a Laker and the Bulls are the enemy. _________________

Wow, I watched the game and saw him get the game ball. Classy move all around but did not realize they took a turnover after his free throws to be able to give him the ball. Super classy. |

Congrats Kobe!
For those saying it took Kobe blank more games to reach it vs MJ, now we can say MJ never got more than what Kobe has reached and counting. |

Los Angeles Times
Kobe Bryant is all smiles at the July 1996 news conference where he was introduced after the Lakers acquired him from the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Vlade Divac. The Hornets had selected the 17-year-old right out of high school with the 13th overall choice in the 1996 NBA draft. |

Grats Kobe.
He seemed genuinely happy about the respect everyone was giving him, and his teammates did too. |

It's not everyday fans get to see a player reach this kind of milestone. Tremendous achievement, well-earned. _________________ Smrek 2, Nevitt 1, Barkley 0 |

Five of the top six have worn a Lakers jersey, with four of them earning much of their fame with the Lakers. In Kobe's case, it's 100% of course.
The top three scorers have first names that begin with the letter "K." That's a good omen for some dude currently playing in Oklahoma City. _________________ Smrek 2, Nevitt 1, Barkley 0 |

Congrats bean. One of the greatest to do it and the most determined player I have ever watched. Not to mention coming into the league so raw and watching him evolve into the player he is today has been a privilege. _________________ Music is my medicine |

It's the greatest shot I've ever seen because it wasn't a matter of luck. Impeccable footwork and court awareness. He does a front pivot, runs into the secondary defender, and without skipping a beat, he does a front pivot off of his back foot, and lands his feet in perfect shooting form. It happened in his second highest scoring game of all time, dropping 65 points in an incredible comeback against the Trailblazers.
I can't tell you how hard this is. 99.99% of the time, a guy will under pivot on that second pivot, with his left foot landing far short of where it should be. Here? Absolutely perfect, and nothing lucky about it, and he drains it over a contesting big. Unreal. The shot's at the 5:00 mark.

Nice vid ... forgot this was his 2nd highest point total for his career.
Awesome you were there ... almost as awesome as me being there for 81 |
Were you there for 81?!?!? |
Yes.
Believe it or not, the tix were handed down to me from my brother-in-law who got the tix, via hand me down, from his season-ticket-holding friend. Gassing up before the game, realizing (like the 2 previous owners) that it was just a game against the Raptors, I told my nephew, "Well, our only hope is that Kobe goes crazy."
Our seats were just left of the visitor's tunnel.
An amazing night ... going absolutely nuts with every basket from 50 up, high-fiving strangers and just watching this amazing guy willing himself and his team to victory. It wasn't so much that he was "hot" (your game against the Blazers and the 56 in the 3 quarters against the Grizzlies were more of that variety), it was his determination to win that freaking game in the way he knew and trusted best. It was that night that I saw how very much he was determined to win.
Great night. _________________ We back. |
