Hi All,
Just wanted to create a thread on behalf of Tony who posted in the Hibbert thread. My deepest condolences... RIP Luca...

I apologize for posting here, but I can't create my own thread. I just want to let people know that Luca Brasi passed away eight weeks ago. He had some health problems, and his body finally gave up. My dad was a good man and had a good life. He will be missed. My son turned him on to this site and showed him how to use it. When dad was laid-up in bed, following the threads and interacting with other Laker fans was one of the few things that made him smile. I don't know if he told anyone, but he and Dr. Buss were good friends. They both loved cards, and of course, the Lakers. They met back in the 1970s when Dr. Buss bought some property dad owned. Both are now up there in the great Forum in the sky laughing, playing cards and making fun of the Celtics. Thank you all for befriending an old Laker-man. Tony

Very sorry to hear. I always appreciated the bits of inside info and the insight that he provided. Glad to see that he got some enjoyment out of posting here towards the end.
OMG.....he passed 2 months ago? That was only 1 month after his heartbreaking last posts here in July....expressing how sad he was about Jim and Jeannie's feuding. He wrote a long post explain the behind the scenes stuff from the 80's til July this year and his final words were "Laker fans deserve better than this."
I wish he'd have lasted a while longer to see what team we put together over the summer and the future being brighter for us Laker fans!!
Hopefully he and Jerry Buss are reunited and watching the Lakers together now.

Those other 2 were on the same day as the long sad one (July 4) and they didn't seem lighthearted to me. Then after 3 weeks his last post was in the "Is this years team worse than last seasons" thread....where he said "not to underestimate the importance of rim protection". So he did get to see us play in Summer League and knew we finally had rim protection now.

Luca was a great almost celebrity member to this site. But his background and connects were only surpassed by his posting content and genuine love of the Lakers.
He will be missed.
May peace and comfort fall upon his family and loved ones. _________________ We back.
Thanks for letting us know Tony. Luca was like the old E.F. Hutton commercial around here. "When Luca talks, people listen. R.I.P. Luca. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.
