Lakers Depth Chart

PG: Ball / Rondo / Bonga / Caruso*
SG: KCP / Hart / Svi
SF: Ingram / Stephenson / Beasley
PF: Lebron / Kuzma / Deng
C: McGee / Zubac / Wagner

* The Lakers have no more available guaranteed roster spots. The Lakers have also filled their two "two-way" contracts spots by providing two-way contracts to Alex Caruso and Travis Wear.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lakers Current Cap Math Post-Lebron/KCP Signings

$35,654,150......LeBron James (1)
$18,000,000......Luol Deng (2)
$12,000,000......Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (3)
$9,000,000........Rajon Rondo (4)
$7,461,960........Lonzo Ball (5)
$5,757,120........Brandon Ingram (6)
$4,500,000...…...Lance Stephenson (7)
$3,500,000...…...Michael Beasley (8)*
$2,500,000...…...JaVale McGee (9)*
$1,761,987........Moritz Wagner (10)
$1,689,840........Kyle Kuzma (11)
$1,655,160........Josh Hart (12)
$1,544,951........Ivica Zubac (13)
$1,500,000........Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk (14)
$1,000,000........Isaac Bonga (15)
____________
$107,525,168**

NO CAP SPACE LEFT

*Once the Lakers used their available cap space, Beasley was signed with MLE Room exception (a max or $4.4 million), while McGee was signed to a Veteran Minimum Contract, which is why the Lakers are over the $101,869,000 cap for 2018-2019.

**Lakers have a non-guaranteed two-way NBA/G-League agreement with Alex Caruso, thus have one two-way contract left to give.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Cap Space Math After Signing Kawhi (after Deng Stretch) Summer 2019
To sign Kawhi next summer, we will need to either dump Deng or stretch him. If we stretch him, we'll need to rescind all of our rights/cap holds for our FAs. Here is the math -

$37,430,000......LeBron James (1)
$32,700,000......Kawhi Leonard (2)
$8,719,320........Lonzo Ball (3)
$7,265,485........Brandon Ingram (4)
$2,164,680........Moritz Wagner (5)
$1,974,600........Kyle Kuzma (6)
$1,934,160........Josh Hart (7)
$1,550,000...…...Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk (8)
$1,416,852........Isaac Bonga (9)
$897,158...........Min Salary (10)
$897,158...........Min Salary (11)
$897,158...........Min Salary (12)

$6,200,000........Luol Deng (1 year $18.8m Stretched)
____________
$104,046,571

$109,000,000 (Cap) - $104,046,571 (Salaries) = $4,953,429 cap space left

It's a new season. Time to start a new thread and argue about fantasy pipe dreams...once again. Enjoy!

Man, it's going to be painful on lottery night when we watch either the Celtics or the 76ers get our pick. We've had 4 years of intrigue on lotto ball night. Yikes.

And now Denver looks like a playoff team, so their 2nd round pick will probably be around 45-50. I anticipate a much less popular draft thread this year

Yeah. And Draft Express is now a part of ESPN's paywall?

Another thing to watch out for is teams that could hit the re-set button by next summer looking to jettison top talent for cheap assets. The Cavs and Pelicans seem like obvious choices depending on the free agency decisions of Lebron and Boogie. Detroit seems likely to move Drummond at some point, while Memphis, Toronto, and Charlotte could also look to blow things up if they fail to reach or advance far in the playoffs.

Ugh, I know. It's literally the worst thing that's happened in the U.S. this year.

Yeah, plan B could be to absorb contracts. We could trade our 2019/21 after the 2018 draft? (Not that i recommend it).

Thanks Yinoma. I wanted to be on the first page of this thread. I predict this will be the biggest thread in LG history.

Oh man, you might be right.

Either lots of celebrating and joy or terrible weeping and gnashing of teeth. What a lot of pressure next summer.

It will be good to ignore the draft again, though not for the reason I was hoping for.

Hmm. Do you think LBJ would come without another bona fide star (and Wade/Brook/KCP aren't it).

There are a few teams with good players on contracts that end in 2019. They could potentially dump those players with a pick and become players in 2018 free agency.

Yeah. Can't wait until we have our TEAM finally put together. Seems like so much instability/roster turnover year after year.

For the record, the 2017 Free Agency thread has reached 1815 pages as of today (2 games into the 2017-2018 preseason).

Considering we're targeting 2 max superstars... this thread will hit 2000+ pages easy
