The BurialCAST Jamie Foxx played a great role. Tommy Lee Jones did also. Jurnee Smollett is a better actress than I gave her credit for being. I wonder if you guys know why Jamie Fox told his crew when they were walking into court "Don't split poles."On a 1 to 10 scale I give the film 9. Going to and from Kaiser for my Covid-19 and flu shots I noticed there were a number of billboards advertising the movie. In the last couple of weeks I've seen the following:
- Five Nights at Freddy's: I honestly knew nothing about the game or its built-in following. I thought it was fun and did Blumhouse credit.
- Killers of the Flower Moon: I really liked it. Lily Gladstone was wonderful and Leo turned in another great performance. I was really impressed with Jason Isbell. I wasn't expecting to see him, but he might be a legit actor if he really wants to be. Obviously Leo and Bobby D are the stars, but I really wanted to see more of Gladstone on screen. She's compelling and did a wonderful job of delivering the conflicted character without being melodramatic.
- A Haunting in Venice: This was a fun haunting story. I like the series of Branagh playing Poirot. I find Michelle Yeoh very tedious but I'm also bringing personal baggage to that equation because she made my life miserable for a 2 month span on another film about 8 years ago.
I'm really looking forward to Ferrari. I think Adam Driver is a terrific actor and Penelope Cruz is very underrated. Shailene Woodley is my girl, too. _________________ You are under no obligation to remain the same person you were a year ago, a month ago, or even a day ago. Ghost Dog: the Way of the Samurai

Subway Stories: Tales from the Underground
vignette "Manhattan Miracle"
features NYC native Gregory Hines (RIP) and Anne Heche (RIP)
HBO put out this one-off special at the beginning of its apex, and it is one of the best things in its catalog. This vignette in particular is something that shook me as a teen and I think about it every day.

Liked the new Godzilla Minus a one movie. In Japanese with subtitles, a throwback to the early movies, just Godzilla versus Japan. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions!

The Family Plan Apple TV. A good watch. Comedy mixed with violence. Mark Wahlberg is surprisingly versatile. CAST _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Jules science fiction comedy-drama. A movie with a story. It's about 3 elderly people an alien spaceship and its passenger. Good watch. I give it a 7. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Insidious red door… kinda like watching Friday the next next Friday, on fumes, but any catholic-ish horror story is top shelf, I’d still watch it _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. I watched The Holdovers.
No surprise, Paul Giamatti was great in it. He excels in roles where the character is combative and abrasive to others. But at the same time internally insecure.
IMDB gives it an 8.0. Which is fair. It has quality acting and dialogue.
I give it a 7.5. Just cause, the plot line has been done a million times before. _________________ When the world grows. Don't choose to stay the same.

Saw Ferrari earlier this week and really enjoyed it. I read Christian Bale and then Hugh Jackman were originally cast as Enzo Ferrari before Adam Driver. I'm glad that didn't happen as I really enjoyed Driver's performance. I've never been a fan of Penelope Cruz but I enjoyed her performance as well.

Love Michael Mann and willing to give a Driver a chance even though he’s been awful in everything I’ve seen him in. _________________ “We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.” ― Elie Wiesel

NETFLIX LIFT. It's a Kevin Hart movie. Kevin plays a thief who's in trouble and has to do a job for INTERPOL to stay out of jail. I've never seen what I call a bad Kevin Hart movie. I give this an 8.5 LIFT CAST Click Vincent D'Onofrio's picture to expose the entire cast. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I really enjoyed it, though it could have/should have been 30 minutes shorter. But I’m also a product of ‘70’s all-boy private and boarding schools and son of a headmaster, so there was an air of familiarity to it (and maybe some PTSD😏). _________________ HARRISWALZ2024

I watched the movie. It deserved the 8.0 IMDB gave it. Giamatti is a versatile actor. He excels at all acting levels from comedy to drama. I was left unsatisfied. Did Paul Hunham write his book? Did Angus excel? What was Mary Lamb's fate? There was a lot of meat left on the bone. Enough to make The Holdovers II. IMO the climax left the possibility of an II happening.
Now I kinda understand why you're such a brat DMR. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.
