In the interest of hopefully furthering the discussion of music here, I thought I'd steal an idea from The Kevin and Bean Show on KROQ and start a thread were people throw a piece of music they've been enjoying at the current moment at the rest of us to check out.

My choice to start us off:

The Marcus King Band - "Sharry Barry/Sliced Milk/25 Or 6 To 4/I’ll Stay/Gloomy Sunday (Live)"

This is definitely a Jam. But your offering doesn't have to be a Jam, it could be something you think is a Bop or even just a piece of Pop that gets you going. So the genre door is wide open. It can be an oldie or a new release.

Whether it be a well known classic or an obscure gem, just share and make the rest of us aware.

Cool timing, I was just listening to the Lunar Dunes second release:

This is unlike most anything most of you have ever heard, but if you are looking for some new musical horizons, put it on, and sit back while you play on the internet....

nice thread nlb

We'll Fight For Uncle Sam

ballad written by irish soldiers who fought for the union in the civil war played to the tune of whiskey in the jar

I've been on this rustic kick lately...this song is amazing

El Grupo Gale - Volver Volver

If that don't get you moving, try this.
Glenn Monroig - Pero No Te Extraño

If that don't work you may well be dead.

XTC - Respectable Street

This band's been all over my queue lately. Ingenious riffs and melodies. The song's commentary on suburban jingoism is also quite funny, and true.

Brent Cobb. A little Allman Brothers-esque on this one.

My oldest son (40) raided the vinyl over the holidays and grabbed my original Fragile album but I warned him the grooves have to be worn down.
I made him take my Yessongs cds...it was like I was giving him leprosy

I really enjoyed this. I'm not much of a Chicago fan but the Funkadelics/Holiday part was aok

"Peaches" by The President of the United States of America

It came across my feed today and was definitely the favorite part of tonight's drive home. Forgot how fun and clever it is.
