Still no updates. I hope it's not serious.

Looks like an update this morning from Schefter. Whenever you hear "weeks", it seems like a tricky situation, though the wording here seems to point to the Rams expecting him back before the start of the regular season.

Rams’ WR Cooper Kupp underwent an MRI on his hamstring and while the team will be very cautious with him, one source said he potentially could be back “for scrimmages in a few weeks.”

John Johnson III is returning to the Rams on a one year deal. It's a completely different defensive team than when he left two years ago. I think only starters remaining since then are AD and Jordan Fuller.

Rams are worth $6.94 billion, 3rd-most valuable franchise in NFL

Quote:
The Los Angeles Rams’ value has increased exponentially since the franchise was moved from St. Louis to Los Angeles, becoming one of the most valuable organizations in the NFL. According to Sportico’s latest valuations, the Rams are worth $6.94 billion right now, which makes them the third-most valuable franchise in the league. Overall, the Rams are the fifth-most valuable franchise in the world.

Their third-place ranking in the NFL is actually down one spot from last year’s list, as they and the Patriots were both leapfrogged by the Giants, who are worth $7.04 billion. The Rams’ total value rose 17% in the last year, while the Giants’ jumped 23%. The Cowboys remain far-and-away the most valuable team at $9.2 billion, rising 20% in the last year.

The betting line for wins this year is 6.5.

The defense is garbage. Sadly it's going to be that way all season.

Yep, appears this is a 5-6 win team at best after gutting the defense during the off-season.

I think the only reason to watch preseason football is to see who'll make the team. I haven't watched much. Who looks like they'll make it on the Rams?

Rams shaping up to be one of the worst teams in the league this season.

Kupp could still be solid for fantasy though, but he is dinged up also.

Not looking good as of August for the Rams.

The Rams are scrimmaging with the Raiders this week. This season is going to be so painful to watch. Unfortunately this will be a wasted year for Donald, Stafford and Kupp.

If they get off to a bad enough start, say 1-5 or something, I could see them trying to trade Stafford again and then even Donald as well. Tank for Caleb, while picking up as many assets as possible. I don't know that they will be bad enough, though, and I could also see them being good enough in a weak NFC to contend for a Wild Card spot if things broke right. I'm sure at the outset of the season that they aren't looking to tank. But if the team is bad enough early, perhaps they would pivot.

That’s not uncommon in the NFL.

Listening to local sports talk radio apparently a lot of the commentators and people who follow the team agree. That being said would I push all the chips onto the table to have a chance to win a Super Bowl even if that meant that the result was the team was not going to be competitive for years to come? You betcha.

Apparently the chance to make tons of money even if the team stinks wasn't enough of a deterrent for them to keep playing football in a Rams uniform.

The defense got bullied on that opening drive. 7-0 Raiders.

Amazing that they gave up three 1st rounds picks and a 3rd round pick to get him at #3.

And they trade him two and a half years later for a 4th round pick.

One could certainly argue he was snakebit and never really got a true chance, but the NFL is a zero sum game and can be brutal. I hope he can rebuild his career because now it seems like he has been deemed a bust and a backup when I think he could be a lot more than that.

49ers got lucky with the Mr Irrelevant pick. You win some and you lose some.

They got insanely lucky, because they bungled the Lance pick (and the draft capital necessary to move up for him) so, so badly. And it's not like Purdy has played a large number of games. There's still a chance that they will be looking for their QB of the future in a year or two. I will say this, he's looked the part so far.
