Lions haven’t had anything offensively since the start of the second half.

Ya, Rams struggle with that. So frustrating to watch.

I just cannot believe they punted. That was the only decision you can't make. And with just 1 timeout. Gutless. I'm beside myself.

Valliant effort by the Rams to make it game after being so down.

Congrats ton Detroit for their PO victory.

Betting on our defense was a dumb bet to make.

Damn. I was so confident we had this one. Well we overachieved, big picture wise , this season.

And with the injuries to the Rams. I guess Detroit would be a bigger roadbloack to San Fran. If they meet up in the conference championship.

Yeah, I was surprised by that. They could've gone down swinging with their offense which was rolling.

And just like that the Rams season is over. Rams overachieved but feels like they could've done more if the play calling was better.

What a game, Rams just couldn't score TD's in the red zone.

Valiant effort in the 2nd half though, the D really made some nice adjustments.

I knew that game was going to be close, unfortunately the Lions are probably still a year away as their defense needs work but Campbell has done an amazing job as no organization was more entrenched with losing.

This game was very winnable. Rams got 9 points from 3 red zone trips, and the Lions got 21 points from 3 red zone trips. And while 4th and 14 is obviously tough, they didn't even go down swinging. It took a missed PI call on the previous play for the Lions to get a stop, also. I just can't believe McVay was that gutless.

Definitely need to work on those red zone plays. They were a thorn in our sides all season. No excuses with weapons like Kyren and our receiving corps.

Hope we can shore up our DBs.

Rams need a tall receiver for those end zone jump ball plays. Kupp and Nacua are both slot receivers.

Got banned from my Rams board for speaking truth and saying how Mcvay is a chump for his coaching decisions

McVay has been dog (bleep) in red zone since day 1

And there has been very little talk on social media about McVay's decision to punt. I don't care where you are on the field, you can't willingly give up the ball with just over 4 minutes left and only one time out left. Not when you're only down by one and even a touchdown by the other team allows you a chance to still come back. In fact, you would almost be better off going for that inside your own 20 so that they can't ice the game completely. Point being, when you're on their side of the field, you certainly can't give up the ball in that situation.

Yeah he's rather predictable in the red zone. No surprise Lions were able to stop them from scoring.

McVay isn't going anywhere. Probably for the best. Despite the obvious time management/wasting timeouts issue, his overall offensive scheme clearly works, and players buy in to what he's selling. It's just very frustrating because this has been years of the time management/timeouts issue, and you would hope that one would get better with that. And he just hasn't.

Clearly, they believe in the philosophy of waiting as long as you can on the play clock to see if the defense will give something away. And when you do that, sometimes at the end of the play clock, if you don't like the look, or if one of your players isn't quite set right because the Rams run a lot of pre-snap motion, then you run the risk of the play clock running out on you. And in the second half, it would be great if the Rams would just take the delay of game penalty instead of calling the timeouts, which are crucial late in a game if you're losing. This is much more annoying to me than any potential playcalling issues, which are also valid. However, at least there's a chance that a play might work. Whereas with the time management issue, it's just simply an issue of poor process. Completely avoidable, basically.

As for any decision to punt in opposition territory with 4:10 to go and losing by 1 and with just 1 timeout left? Gutless and stupid, both.
