News about Jeongyeon made me sad. She and Sana are my 2 favorite kpop idols. I hope she’s already finished filming her scenes for “The Feels”, would be a shame if she’s not on their English comeback.
Read a Billboard article recently on BTS. Neither the author of the article, nor the article itself, make the accusation, mentioned that BTS fandom had been accused of chart manipulation. The accusations apparently sprang from BTS’ pretty incredible chart success with their last couple of singles juxtaposed with the group’s less than significant radio play in the US.
Now, I know for a fact that Kpop fans manipulate YouTube views and streaming, and not just BTS fans, but I’m at a loss as to how to tie unit sales to “manipulation” by fans. It would be different if BTS’ company was buying up albums, but that would seem to he easily proven.
Also have to keep in mind that the group is WILDLY popular, they did a STADIUM tour last time in the US, with multiple dates at the friggin Rose Bowl. Only the biggest acts can do this.
I suppose chart manipulation is possible, but likely not significant.
The same article had the guys in the group claiming they didn’t like singing in English and would likely not continue the trend. Lol, let’s see how they chart on the Billboard Hot 100 with songs sung all, or mostly, in Korean.
Really happy for Twice. Their English single debuted in the Billboards Hot 100, only the 4th SK artists to ever do it. And this whole week they will be celebrating their 6th year anniversary with their fans!

Bought an Oakland floor ticket. Absolutely horrific scalping. I joined the queue immediately (in the waiting room before it even opened) and all face value tickets were gone by the time I got through.
