The Lakers won't get swindled again, and will trade him along with THT for space and some picks. They'll then go into the off-season looking to bring back Monk and Melo. And go from there. |
Some team is going to give picks for Nunn and THT? _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

Well, Nunn may have very well been hurt more than it was reported which is what I have always thought. More like an ACL/MCL tear along with the bone bruise but no one as every said.
Let's see if Nunn comes back with a vengeance this next season. I am sure he feels bad.
As for THT, ship his ass out. Dude sucks. |

He will likely never play a regular season game as a Laker. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

I guess this player option is all but official haha
Quote: | Brad Turner
@BA_Turner
Kendrick Nunn said it was a "no-brainer" for him to opt in for his player option with the Lakers.
|
And let’s be honest about Russ’s option….so we project to be capped out at about 145m with Russ/Bron/AD/THT/Nunn on our books next season on a projected 122m salary cap. FYI tax line is projected at just under 149m. _________________ Not familiar with the salary cap/CBA rules & how it impacts our Lakers?

If Nunn opting in is a no-brainer than I wouldn't call him a sweetener...more like salary fodder. _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit) |

Potential trade targets although I wouldnt mind keeping him. He's a solid player.
Rudy Gay (age)
Justin Holiday (age)
Cam Reddish
Jeff Green (Age)
Goga Bitadze
Torrey Craig _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though." |

Nunn officially opts-in.
Quote: | During his exit interview with reporters in April, Nunn announced his plan to return to Los Angeles. "Knowing that I just took this entire year off, it's a no-brainer for me to opt in," Nunn said. |
Four of the five guaranteed contracts currently on the books are Klutch players.
Quote: | Nunn's decision puts the Lakers at five guaranteed contracts on the books for next season, along with LeBron James ($44.47 million), Anthony Davis ($37.98 million), Talen Horton-Tucker ($10.26 million) and Austin Reaves ($1.56 million). |
The other players the Lakers have options on.
Quote: | Los Angeles also has team options on Stanley Johnson ($2.35 million) and Wenyen Gabriel ($1.88 million) for next season. |
Russ can come back next season for $47m at his option.
Quote: | Russell Westbrook, entering into the final year of his deal with $47.06 million, has until June 29 to inform L.A. whether he intends to opt in or not. |

Yeah, happy to have Nunn back. I suppose had he been healthy last year there was a good chance he would have been a full MLE candidate and possibly left.
Kind of thinking of him as a free agent acquisition this season, but this time we'll have his EB rights, which lets us retain him next summer for up to the average salary (vis a vis Full MLE level of deal). _________________ Austin Reaves keeps his game tight, like Kobe Bryant on game night. |

Not sure on his health, but right now our bench looks a lot better than our starting lineup.
Davis
Lebron
-----------------
Stanley
Reaves
THT
Nunn
^
Add a vet min FA or two and your bench has some really decent continuity and can give you something.
The issue is the starting lineup, I mean, I didn't put Russ in for a reason. It's really Russ and then 2 more starters we have to get via FA or via putting some of the bench guys into the starting lineup. Some of these guys have to play roles above their paygrade/level. That's the issue dating back to last season. You have Russ, but you don't have 2-3 starting level players next to him.
Nunn/Russ backcourt won't work either, too easy to bully/shoot over on defense, IMO. |

I know he had a disappointing no show this year. But that's due to a very strange but costly injury. IF he's healthy, he can be a big help to this team. Hopefully, if Russ is back, Ham lets Nunn compete with Russ to get the starting PG position as he is a much more effective shooter (especially from 3) than Russ and doesn't need to dominate the ball to be successful. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Barring a move like a Kyrie trade, we aren't getting any game changers for the next season. I'm actually more interested on whether Nunn plays - if he does he might be one of the most key 'acquisitions' for us going into the next season
Anyone heard anything about how he's doing? |
