Maybe a return to the Clips isn’t likely.

When Russell Westbrook was going through his Lakers tribulations, the support he had from Clippers locker room was quite widespread, both before and during his Utah Jazz purgatory

Let's just say that the same locker room doesn't speak on Chris Paul the same way, FWIW

It never was, but people may have believed it because Woj tried to play it up for the sake of ESPN to have more to talk about.

Miami likes playing around with draft picks and the 17th pick allows them to add to there players like Martin/Strus/Vincent

AD for Ben Simmons while we're at it.

We should also call up the Suns before they waive Paul and trade Lebron for CP3 just to complete the trifecta of horrible moves.

CP3 forced his way off the Clippers so it wasn't a friendly ending.

Who cares about the Clippers, they'll never win crap

To be quite honest, if I was running the Clippers, I wouldn't give a damn about what that locker room thinks.

I know its a long shot but hear me out?

Suns want to trade Ayton? CP3 might get released soon?

Lakers Ayton/Landry

Suns DLO/Bamba

Suns get a younger pg in DLO and hes good friends with Booker and getting Bamba would replace Ayton.

Lakers get their big man they and a shooter.

Lakers could then get CP3 on a vet min if he decides to come. We can still use Beasley/17th for another asset

How about we do DLO + Bamba for Booker

Mention the clips cause if they are out, that is once less suitor for CP3, and am ever so slight increase in CP3 to the Lakers.

as bleak as the future of an 39 year old LeBron and fragile AD looks, Clippers is in far worse shape. KL may never play again. so if i'm CP3, Lakers looks more enticing for sure.

The Lakers are a heavy betting favorite to land Trae Young if the Hawks decide to trade him.

What? How does this happen? Are they assuming we trade Anthony Davis?

However, after sleeping on this, I have a really hard time seeing CP3 coming here - unless the FO just does something idiotic (which is entirely possible) and elects to actually make him the starting PG (if they do that, oh brother, we know the injury is coming...). What I think will happen is CP3 still wants to start and still wants to feel like he is making an impact with a shot at ring, and still wants to get paid - my read on him (and this is just my read, I have never met the man) is he will scoff at the notion of being paid a minimum or even a mid level exception.

At this point in his career, he's probably motivated by one of two things: winning a championship OR playing with his friend (i.e. LBJ). If the Lakers weren't a contender, I don't think the allure of signing with the Lakers would be there. I think there's probably a pretty strong chance that LBJ would be in his ear, and I think the Lakers recognize that they need a PG and the market is rather barren. I could see the Lakers viewing CP3 was a short-term fix, and then look for a potential long-term answer.

Sign CP3 (Vet Min/Partial MLE/MLE)
Re-sign Dennis Schroder (Veteran Minimum)
Re-Sign D'Angelo Russell (2 years, $40M or 3 years, $54M)

PG: CP3 / Dennis Schroder / #17
SG: Austin Reaves / D'Angelo Russell / Max Christie
SF: LeBron James / Malik Beasley
PF: Jared Vanderbilt
C: Anthony Davis / Mo Bamba

Needs some big man depth, but you can dangle Malik Beasley and Mo Bamba's contract along with some SRPs for bloated, but productive players on long-term contracts.

That’s one unbalanced team

I would be surprised to see Westbrook or CP3 with the Clippers

When betting is involved someone is making money. Logic doesn’t prevail.

Did the Lakers have anyone over 38 when they won #17? CP3 would give us not one but two players over 38.

Jeanie didn't take over a team with the same talent level as the one that her dad purchased, not to mention that Dr. Buss' first 5 titles were assembled before the salary cap, luxury tax, lottery or revenue sharing, and with archaic free agency rules.

Stupid commentary. No one is trading Davis for Young. Not happening.

Won't be surprise... Ayton for Kyrie makes sense for both teams. Specially if Suns are letting go of CP3... Cuban finally get a big to pair up next to Luka.

Trae Young is not the move Lakers wanna go.

A 6ft no defending guard, that just wants to play offense isn't a good direction.

On top of the contract that he has.

Trae young is not curry but is only 24years old. We dont have assets to get him...

Trae Young makes Steph Curry look like Gary Payton, Sr.

Steph is 6'3 and as you said, Trae isn't Steph and Lakers are not the Warriors.
