INJURIES FROM THE OTHER SIDE

This was what was happening with the Knicks going into the clippers match today. We shall see if there will be any LGSRS happening tomorrow.

Per Katz / Popper

Jalen Brunson is OUT tomorrow against the Clippers. Knicks list him with a sore left foot. Isaiah Hartenstein is probable with a sore left ankle. @StevePopper first to report.

https://twitter.com/fredkatz/status/1634357963182972928?s=46&t=6-sxM4NpvzeWdNMn3aVCqg

UPDATE:

Knicks will be without PG Jalen Brunson tonight; they will have Mitchell Robinson, who missed LAL’s OT win in January. Robinson had 8 off. boards against LAC last night, and will be a focal point.

New York is the only team in the NBA w/a better record on the road than at home.

SMALL BRON UPDATE

Per Woike

Darvin Ham said “everything is going according to plan” thus far with LeBron James’ recovery/rehabilitation. Said he viewed this stretch as a chance for an emotional reset as well.

Per athe Rally (video at link )

“I’m told (LeBron’s) right foot is feeling much better … the Lakers are bracing as if he will need a significant chunk of the remainder of the regular season to ramp up for a return.”

AD OUT TOMORROW (HOUSTON)

Per Goon

Darvin Ham said Anthony Davis won't play tomorrow against Houston. He's not cleared. Even though he's playing pain-free, the organization is going to stick to their plan they made with team doctors a while ago. Describes his foot as "an active injury."

https://twitter.com/kylegoon/status/1635831589723598848?s=46&t=6-sxM4NpvzeWdNMn3aVCqg

Per Trudell

Darvin Ham said Anthony Davis - 35P, 17R in the win - won’t play tomorrow night on the 2nd night of a B2B. That’s still the plan with the medical staff to hold him out of B2B’s that was put in place prior to his return to play from the stress reaction in his foot.

https://twitter.com/lakersreporter/status/1635831950094086145?s=46&t=6-sxM4NpvzeWdNMn3aVCqg

Per McTen

Anthony Davis will not play tomorrow in Houston, according to Darvin Ham. There was an organizational decision to keep him out of back-to-backs, even though Ham stressed that Davis remains pain free playing on the foot that kept him out of 20 games earlier this season.

INJURIES FROM THE OTHER SIDE - Sengun

Per Feigen

Rockets center Alperen Sengun, who missed Monday's game with a strained groin, is questionable to play against the Lakers tomorrow. Had a career high 33 points along with 15 rebounds and four blocked shots in the first meeting.

We will see how committed they are to the tank. With AD out, the org probably sees they could get a win.

But they just beat the Celtics, do you really want to risk getting another win - I bet they hold him out.

POTENTIAL LGSRS - LUKA DONČIĆ

Per MacMahon

Luka Doncic made the trip with the Mavs despite being ruled out tonight vs. Spurs. He’s considered day to day.

Per Woike

Lakers host the Mavs on Friday

The Rockets have a 6-game lead over Charlotte in the win column with 14 games to go. They can afford to live dangerously.

but they are tied with Det in wins and 2 games "lead" on the spurs., and when you are tanking, win column is all that matters.

Lottery odds have flattened. The bottom three teams have the same odds (14%) to win the lottery.

However, to your point, the floor does change (#1 cannot drop lower than 5th; #2 cannot drop lower than 6th; #3 cannot drop lower than 7th). If a team wants to mitigate its risk, it may want to secure the absolute worst record, and thus, the highest lottery floor.

There are still incentives to get the worst record, but, as long as you are assured of finishing in the bottom three, the incentive are pretty small. My guess is that how strong or weak the incentives are tracks pretty closely with how bold franchises are in their tanking efforts.

Riiiiight. He was out with a groin strain vs. the Celtics but feels better 48 hours later

Kind of like Luka. Although Luka does look hobbled more than most of these guys.
