Thora Birch's parents were both adult actors in the 70s. The much worse thing is having a parent(s) like this degenerate and the next big thing is having parents who stick around and play the part (not letting any past bad decision impact the parent role or at worst being able to compartmentalize the job vs the job at home). If not, the kid may wind up like this one (gay or not) or Christian Walker (not anywhere near as bad as the shooter, but his problem doesn't stem from his sexual identity at all). Many of Christian's problems, and probably many of the shooter's problems, comes from having an absentee lout as a father.

I disagree. If you study the life of Jesus, read about Mother Teresa, talk to the Pope, go on a pilgrimage, listen to imams about what Islam is, speak to the Jewish community, ready the bible or the Koran from cover to cover... I am no sure you'd conclude the essence of faith is hate.

And yet Christian’s and Muslims and almost every other faith have caused more death than all other causes combined. And when you’re deadlier than fights over money or mates, you’re pretty effin deadly. Btw, mother Theresa is revered by Catholics and other westerners (kind of like the British royalty) despite the fact that she musketeers to the suffering, but opposed things that would stop their suffering because she thought it was noble and from god. She was a faith based sadist who sought to make the suffering understand that their suffering was purifying them and bringing them closer to her god. You can have her.
Not all people of faith are evil, but faith itself is a force to divide and control and subjugate people.

I disagree. If you study the life of Jesus, read about Mother Teresa, talk to the Pope, go on a pilgrimage, listen to imams about what Islam is, speak to the Jewish community, ready the bible or the Koran from cover to cover... I am no sure you'd conclude the essence of faith is hate. |
As long as there has been organized religion, faith had been the core tool in using hate as a motivator for divisiveness and violence. That is indisputable to anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of history. |
You could even go a step further and say that religion has been behind most of the atrocities committed throughout history |

Religion can be and has been an exciting factor for war. Along with other things like: economic gain, territorial gain, nationalism. Not to mention civil and revolutionary wars.
The woman Tucker brought on is vile. And she doesn't get a pass from me by just blaming her religion.
There are African American women who are Christian, who make up the most consistent voting block for the Democratic party. Hope Reverend Warnock wins. We need that Senate seat. |

That’s fair too. There are numerous individuals and groups of people for whom religion is a comfort and a motivator of decency and love. Which has an irony i it given that religious belief is the most powerful catalyst for hate and intolerance outside of (and sometimes super ceding) race.
