You can't teach size, Rui bully ball has been severely underutilized.
Glad to see him play well.
exactly. Rui is a physical mismatch with most 3's and 4'S. Too strong for 3's and too quick for 4's. When you put him with lebron and AD its almost impossible for anyone to defend us

I would argue that Bron has taught Rui size very well. He’s able to finish better, contort his body, and cut better after being with Bron who has a similar build. Rui never knew how to use that size in Washington

He has definitely improved under LeBron's tutelage, but never used his size in Washington?
Sealing, dropping the shoulder to create space for mid range jumpers, finishing through contact.
It was all there, just wasn't utilized. _________________ The most important shot in basketball.
If rui keeps playing like this, that contract is going to look like a really good one
It already was tbh. If Rui continues to play like this and exploit mismatches, then it will look like a generational steal. _________________ How NBA 2K18 failed the All-Time Lakers:

Isn't this what we should expect from the 9th pick in the draft? The young man is very talented. He has all the skills you'd want from a top ten pick.
I realize how easy it is for me to criticize Coach Ham, but I'd ride Rui hard in terms of giving him consistent playing time, and staying on him to maintain that fire he needs to play with all the time.

Yeah, he's talented offensively, can post-up, soft touch on the mid-range, run the break and is an OK shooter. I think the hesitation boils down to defensive range - he's not a perimeter defender, nor is he a rim-protector - but he can do the job defending bulky physical front-court players
I think we should go to Rui more in the post. Especially on days like tonight where he has a mismatch in the middle. It feels like there is a deep vein of buckets that has been untapped for far too long
Didn’t melt under pressure, Kawhi-lite, but I want him to crash the offensive boards hard like Vando. Move Austin to the bench and give those touches to Rui. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points."

🤔
DLo-Vando-Rui back court? I’m kinda ok with this _________________ “The main goal for the Lakers is to win a championship. All I care about, all we care about, is to raise another banner in the rafters.“
