Yeah if we lost all three we'd still be ahead of Dallas. |

Dallas eliminated Lakers make the play in. Although it would probably better if they somehow move into the 6th seed and avoid the play in. |

Correct me if I am wrong, but the Lakers will be the first team in history to start 0 and 5 and make the playoffs. |

They're not in the playoffs, they're in the play-ins. |

And here’s a table of the probabilities in seeding…

So after today’s results, it looks like the highest probability tomorrow will lead us to the 8th seed facing 7th seed Minny as the road team in the play-in (25% probability).
Next highest probability has us bypassing the play-in altogether as the 6th seed (18.75%) or being the 8th seed and playing 7th seed cLios as the road team in the play-in (18.75%)

8 of the 9 scenarios in which we get the #8 seed require us to lose to the Jazz. If we can't beat the Jazz, then we don't deserve anything better. It would mean that we lost to the Clippers and the Jazz in critical games at the end of the season when we were as healthy as we're going to get. It'll be time to start thinking about the offseason in earnest.
As I read that chart, there is only one scenario in which we beat Utah and still wind up with the #8 seed: the Pelicans, Warriors, and Suns all need to win. If that happened, we would be looking at a near-apocalyptic play-in game against the Clippers. So this is the way I look at it: If we take care of business against the Jazz, we get the seventh seed unless we hit the apocalyptic scenario, and if Portland somehow beats the Warriors, there are scenarios in which we can get the sixth seed. _________________ Internet Argument Resolved |

Wait how do we end up 8th? We'll beat Jazz easily. Wolves already have 40 losses? I am missing something there.
I think we're all but guaranteed 7th, and I've been saying we're guaranteed the play ins for a month now.
I don't see how we can drop below the Wolves, unless we somehow lose to the Jazz today? And I just don't see the Jazz beating the Lakers.
My guess
We win
Minn wins
Clips win
Warriors win
Who has the tiebreaker between Min/NOR? We face one of them at Staples. |

The eighth seed (with us beating the Jazz) requires a tiebreaker scenario in which the Pelicans get the sixth seed and the Clippers get the seventh seed.
In your scenario, we host the TWolves, and the Pelicans host the Thunder. _________________ Internet Argument Resolved |

We would fall to 8th if we finish in a three way tie with the Clippers and Pelicans. |

Clippers look to be waking up. Most likely scenario is Lakers 7th, Pels 8th. |

The Lakers ending up with the 7 seed after the hole they had dug for themselves is amazing.
Take care of business on Tuesday and get some rest. |
