The Lakers should have had Dedmond, Meyers, or Nerlens, for a few days now so that they would have been familiar with the game plan by now to prepare for this eventuality. Some will say they wouldn’t make a difference but the GMs that signed each one of them disagree. You don’t have to just roll over and say ahhh if only we hadn’t been so unlucky with injuries, something can be done that may at least keep a team afloat for a few games even if it’s not a long term fix.
It’s not a coincidence that some teams perform better than others when faced with injuries. The GM has to anticipate circumstances and implement contingencies. Whiteside or Cousins should be signed, Reed waived, and Kemba signed for the specific purpose of injury insurance.

The Kemba thing I would do but understand others being on the fence with that since ScottieJR could be called up as a two way and signing Kemba along with a center would require waiving a player. This is sizing up to be a hard-fought, defensive matchup between two teams both desperately needing a win.
Memphis is a tough team with or w/o Ja. Tyus Jones is a crafty and talented veteran point guard. Their defense, led by JJJr, is ranked #2 in the league (110.2).
The Lakers are ranked 16th (114.3), however since the trade deadline additions, the Lakers defense has a defensive rating of 109.5!
AD better make his presence known on both ends of the court. Vando and the Lakers defense will also have to be solid.
It's going to take an all-around team effort in order for the Lakers to win.
Despite injuries, the Lakers have the momentum and home court advantage, now is the time to "seize the moment." ......... GO LAKERS

I've renewed my Prozac prescription. These cardiac kids are aging an already old man. I don't have any hair to pull out. There's little room for error. Meanwhile, Russell has been sidelined for about a week and a half because of a sprained ankle he sustained on Feb. 23 versus the Golden State Warriors.
But there is a chance he plays on Tuesday against the Memphis Grizzlies, as his status for that game has been upgraded to questionable.
