VanVleet is gonna be playing with a chip on his shoulder. After his tirade, I think the refs are gonna be extra careful before calling a foul on him. We have to stop Siakam. Maybe Vando. We don't have any room for error.

One of our guys should go to the refs in the first quarter and say "FVV says you are the worst ref eva!"

Put yourself in a refs position. Knowing your calls on Fred will be highlighted. If I were a ref I'd be hesitant. I envision late whistles.

There is video of the ref throwing an elbow at Fred, the refs are on notice so I don’t think that they want additional media exposure.

If a player did that to a ref he'd be ejected. Why not refs?

Exactly, this is kind of sad people are even acting "outraged" over it.. It looks like he might have SLIGHTLY touched his jersey with the elbow but didn't even make contact with actual body whatsoever. I'm all for calling out the refs over BS but this is just ridiculous. Can't say i'm all that surprised in 2023 though I guess. |

Right?
I literally had to watch that multiple times to see anything that might be remotely construed as throwing an elbow. I saw him bend his arm to take the ball away from Fred. I guess that's the "throw"?
I am as done with the NBA officials and officiating as anyone but this ain't it. |

If anyone watched the Untold Documentary with disgraced ref, Tim Donaghy -- he talks about how refs would take except when called out by a player and then show them who is in charge in later games.
It wasn't just him saying it but they showed clips of refs being extra tight with the players they didnt like. Doesn't seem farfetched to me that this goes on and FVV might have made a bad decision; even if I agree with his argument |
