I will continue to stand by my statement that DLO isn't as bad a defender as his reputation. Low motor but smart positioning + good length by size. Still figuring out how good/bad in absolute terms I think he is though

He has improved on defense, specifically this season.
Why anyone would want Kyrie is beyond me. Dlo is a former youth movement guy, cares about playing here and is still young. Kyrie looks like it annoys him to play basketball, won't commit himself and probably won't play 30% of the season, and that's if he's in a good mood.
Ky was unhappy the Nets didn't guarantee his full max.
So max is likely his asking price. So Lakers can't even get close to that with pure cap space (achieved by letting EVERYONE go except LBJ/AD/Reaves cap hold/Max). So that's not it.
So it would have to be a S&T. But that requires DLO to consent, and no way Mavs sign DLO to a $40m+ deal. So you'll have to throw in probably 2 of our role players. And now you're hard capped so that affects who you can keep or re-sign. Oh and Mavs likely ask for the 2023 or 2029 FRP in helping facilitate this.
So that's an easy no for me. Easy. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals

IMHO Kyrie isn't getting max unless Cuban breaks. DLo is certainly not max. It is great he is here now, but he is not a building block player and should be paid accordingly. Dennis is fine. Lets see Dlo when bron is back. We know bron likes to have the ball in his hands and will most def change up how we are playing. Maybe not first game back but old dog new tricks is a saying for a reason.

Fortunately the west is weak this year. Window year.
Totally disagree about DLO not being a building block player. He may not be an alpha or 1B, but at 30m/year (with the salary cap rising each year and possibly a spike soon), it's a good piece to have. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
Rumor has it Pelinka and Jeanie will be making a push for Kyrie this summer. My thinking is that Lebron would endorse Kyrie over DLo. That said, it seems the absolute consensus is that Laker fans don't want Kyrie, we want DLo. There may be some serious drama this summer.

How’d that work out last time when LBJ wanted an expensive player? _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
If Kyrie was sane it would be a no brainer. In terms of impact, Kyrie alone > D-Lo, Rui, and Beasley combined. However, getting into the Kyrie business is a fool's errand.
I am hoping DLO + Dennis instead of just 1 of Kyrie, DLO and Dennis.
We should be willing to do a 2 year (1+1) MMLE with Dennis, have his bird rights after 23-24, and he opts out to get a better deal. If he has a down year (injuries) he has the guaranteed money for the 2nd year to opt in to. He may be happy in LA, and sees he's much better off here than other places. The 2 years he's been in LA, he's had far better results (and so have we when we've had injuries) than him bouncing around last season.
DLO should be kept at whatever the market value dictates. You can't deal a potential lottery pick to only let one of the 2 the main assets in return walk. The only concerm with DLO is that if you give him a massive deal, could it be impossible to move later in the deal. Because he also has had knee issues.

Lets hope the Laker front office has learned from their past mistakes. Their slogan should be "Just Say No" to Kyrie.
Only players I would let Dlo walk for are Lillard and SGA which isn’t saying much cause hell will freeze over before those guys are available any time soon, perhaps I could see Portland doing Dame a favor by trading him to a contender this summer out of loyalty and respect

Eh. It's easy enough to find "rumors" to support any idea you want to get worked up about. You can find reports saying the Lakers plan to go after irving. You can find reports saying the Lakers have absolutely no plan to go after irving.
My feeling is, I'll believe it when I see it. And until I see it it's not worth even thinking about.

Kyrie is on a completely different level from D’Angelo, as tonight’s game shows. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:

I don’t know how many of the Schroder votes are protest votes, but Dennis has almost as many votes as Kyrie. Some people would take Dennis over Kyrie regardless of contract. _________________ Damian Lillard shatters Dwight Coward's championship dreams:
