Ham has to play Bamba in game 6. Mo's not only a rim protector he's a good 3 point shooter. Bamba’s ability to hit from downtown would make Jackson, if he is in the game when Bamba is on the court, come out onto the perimeter to guard him, which would open the lane for L.A.’s other players. This is it. If Ham doesn't play Bamba in game 6 win or lose I give up on him.
LETS GO!!! |
Memphis shot 11% in the third until he got pulled by Ham. 11% is completely shut down. (NBA TODAY)
In fact from the point AD came back in the game to the close of the second quarter they shot 23%. So for that stretch of AD comes into the second to AD sits in the third AD had completely and utterly shutdown the basket, Grizzlies, the crowd, and Ham threw all his fn hard work away.
Ham would be a (bleep) idiot to not use most timeouts to rest AD and keep him on the damn floor to you break them |

BANE has guaranteed a win for the Griz.
And after the pathetic effort the Lakers put forth in game #5, why would they NOT think like that.
And if the Lakers lose game #6 at home, I don't see them winning game #7 either...
hopefully some home cooking and the Griz's terrible road record will align for a Laker win..! _________________ “Always remember... Rumors are carried by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots.”

A low-scoring game would favor the Grizzlies. We need to unleash Showtime on those punks and get the score as high as possible. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers |

I doubt lebron has legs for those. Unless DLO/AR/RUI gets hot from the 3, I don’t see a high scoring game |

That's why we need DLO/AR/RUI to play well. DLO and AR in particular need to push the pace and attack the basket instead of settling for 3s. That would save LeBron's legs. _________________ Lakers 49ers Chargers Dodgers |

Not gonna lie, nervous as hell about this game.
I think Bane feels confident they have figured out the Lakers to a degree. Past 2 games they have been much more physical and the refs are allowing them to do so. Bane has also figured out certain spots he can go to and get a high percentage shot.
Meanwhile, the lack of any size on the floor when AD sits allows the Grizz to play much more aggressively. It basically invites them to attack the rim with abandon; or sets up the Lakers to paint packing as a defensive measure and leaves open a Grizz player with a wide open 3...which in game 5 they made more of. This singular issue is going to be very difficult for Ham to solve imo absent him doing what he wont do - which is using the other bigs when AD sits. I know folks are calling for it, but he will not do it, at least not for any significant amount of time.
Perhaps the other big issue is if LBJ will be more rested / less exhausted. It would not surprise me his 20/20 OT performance game just drained his energy for the next game, in part why he settled for more outside shots / 3's. LBJ the past couple seasons has shown that if he has a huge game (eg 40 points, or the massive effort he did with 20/20) it takes a toll on him...he would either not play the next game for rest, or if he did play, his performance would take a hit.
I also think the Lakers need to figure some consistent adjustment to throw Bane off his game, while still trying to keep Morant in check. Bane has been heavily carrying that offense and it can be argued he has been the best player in the series.
Bottomline: Lakers need AD and LBJ to have good games, 1 of AR or D'lo to have a good game, and either DS or Rui to have some offense off the bench...meanwhile playing solid D. _________________ "One thing I admire about Kuzma is his unwavering confidence. I'm sure the Lakers noticed that too and hopefully they have an adjustment in place for that for game 6. Maybe AD plays the whole game. AD seems to be the kryptonite for their offense. |

I first thought let Ja get his and stop the others. Well, the others Desmond Bane, and Tyus Jones stepped up. The Lakers have to also stop the others. Defense is key for the win. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

We need buckets from the starters, can't expect a win if James and/or AD are missing 15 shots. Ja is hot and Bane is too, our stars need to match up _________________ 48 49 50 52 53 54 72 80 82

Our defense needs to be super aggressive right from the start. Go all out. Get the crowd going. Rock Memphis on their heels.
And no slowdown offense: Attack, Attack, Attack. Get Reeve’s open looks. |

Win or Bust.
My biggest worry is Dumass Ham. why do you play heavy minutes to AD and Bron last game. we were down big. |

No BS.
Darvin don’t you dare play your stupid (bleep) small ball lineups. You don’t have the requisite knock down shooters.
Lebron
AD
Reaves
DLO
Dennis
Rui
Vanderbilt
Gabriel (to help with size)
No one else. Beasley (hell no), Brown (not playing well) and Bamba (Ham doesn’t know who Bamba is and he hasn’t played competitive basketball since the injury)
Don’t (bleep) up, Ham. |

In the literal sense of the term must win you are correct. A must win is the 7th game of a 7 game series. However, this is a better win game. We don't want to go back to Memphis, a place where the Grizzlies have the best home-court record in the league.
I'm gonna walk back my statement If Ham doesn't play Bamba in game 6 win or lose I give up on him because I don't know the real health status of Mo. If he's healthy I think he should get some burn because his 3pt shooting will draw Jaren Jackson Jr out to the strip and open up the middle for Lakers drivers. _________________ Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I don't like to say must game because there's going to be a game 7. But the way we have been playing in Memphis this feels like a must game. We could have lost game 1 in Memphis if Morant didn't get hurt. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold. |
