Good point about the sense of urgency. A very strong argument can be made that the midseason opportunities were stronger than off season opportunities would have been. Most importantly, the value of some of the players that got time in the second half of the season was made very clear.

We were literally in the wcf. Stole home court in the previous series. The start had zero impact.
