2-Way: COLIN CASTLETON is a Laker

Castleton can be active for 50 games.
All 3 2-way can be active for a total of 90.

I would hope that any time one AD/Hayes/Wood is out we would bring up Castleton. Especially early because I assume we'll grab a big at the trade deadline waivers.

With guards and perimeter players, you want them to relocate to open space to get the open shot. But down low, there typically won't be open space. You have to position yourself to have leverage and wrestle for advantage. Colin rates really poorly at this right now, but he could get better with improved strength and some coaching. He seems to have a low enough base and the agility to get to leverage points. Then he just needs to put a body on guys.

Right now he's looking to float to open spaces and is getting pushed outside of the frame.

He clearly knows how to play, but he’s vulnerable to getting over powered and he very much has a below the rim kind of game. He’s looked really good in his minutes against third string guys and backups, but can he keep up that level of performance against the monster athletes in the nba? We might find out if Woods continues to suck.

Seeing him today made me remember how unreasonably optimistic I am for him at some point. Hopefully he gets some more garbage time now that he's healthy

I forgot how well this man moves his feet defensively. He should probably get a roster spot next season!

Annoying how he doesn't get spot minutes at least. We're up against a team that has the size advantage on us, and we're down our center. There was little to lose in playing him tonight and we still didn't do it. Annoying. Oh well. Hope he gets a chance at some point, because I think he deserves it.

ngl I was excited for this guy after last year's summer league

not impressed at all this year. almost looks worse than last year -- maybe because this year's squad is so awful?

He's too light. He has high level passing for a big. He has scoring touch, but he has no weight to throw around for boards or blocks.

He looked good last year when they ran the O through him at the freethrow line, but he'll never be good enough that you would create an NBA offense around that.

I just don't see him translating without putting on some serious muscle to bang in the paint.

I haven't looked at his numbers this year, but I'd assume they would be lower than what they were last year.

A lot of that is his game needs structure. Last year summer league team had a lot of structure and actually had a PG in JHS combinded with we ran the O through Colin. On the flip side, Moses Brown game is more just go out and play. So he is looking better right now.

He knows how to play. The issue is if he can hang with the physicality of the NBA. So far the prognosis doesn’t look very good, but I hope
He gets a chance to prove himself during the regular season.
