Not sure why Cam Reddish at vet min is bad. Only Lakers fans could find fault in that. 6’8 220 23 years old. Worth a risk.

Everything I've heard about Cam Reddish is he's abjectly awful. But I think we shouldn't understate what can click for a young guy playing next to the GOAT (to this generation of players) and another all-NBA guy. Especially when he is coached by the ultimate player's coach in terms of getting buy in (Westbrook off the bench!) and a preeminent player development coach (Handy).

Getting him for the min is a move I can stand behind. I would hate a signing like Eric Gordon way more, because coaches tend to overplay washed up has beens due to their past performance.

wouldn't that just be amazing? A player who was supposed to be a dead eye shooter but fell short in the NBA comes to the Lakers and finds his stroke

There are a lot of basketball players with those measurable. He has been on multiple teams and has looked horrible. He also sucked at Duke.

He doesn’t have one plus skill - can’t shoot, pass or defend. He is a waste of a roster spot.

We have a lot of not ready yet projects on this roster.

JHS
Max
Maxwell Lewis
Hayes

I would have rather Lakers get someone a little more seasoned, but I get the Klutch project tax.

He's your #3 SF, unless he makes a jump.. and he's getting the vet min.

What's the problem here?

Exactly and he has 4 years of NBA experience

I'm not in an uproar over it. I'm just saying I would prefer someone else. I hope he pans out.

I would've much preferred Yuta Watanabe over Reddish. Yuta shot 44.4 percent from 3-point range last season and 49.1 percent overall. But maybe he didn't want to join the Lakers. Did Pelinka even try to sign him?

Phoenix could offer him a lot more minutes. He probably wouldn’t get much PT here. Same with Reddish.

Everything I see in Cam’s style of play is that of a two guard. Loves to shoot from outside, has a decent handle for 6’8”, not a player that plays with strength. Of course, shooting has always been an issue. I truly hope the Lakers see him as a project that gets with Handy and Jent to try and become a 2 guard that can give the Lakers a crazy jumbo wing look.

I think that if you look at fans from his previous stops you would realize that it isn’t only Laker fans. He is a break glass in case of emergency player, the signing isn’t worth loving or hating.

Who else for the vet min could we have gotten?

As a 21 year old he did ball out on offense and defense in the Eastern Conference Finals in the 4 games after he got back from his injury suffered in that season. Was a pretty big stage to play your best ball. I think he is going to be good for us.

Plus, he’s supposedly great friends with KD.

I think Reddish will turn it around this year. I have high hopes for him.

He put up almost similar a lil better stats than THT… Also a bit better of a shooter. Career 10pts scorer and had some big scoring games already.

Only 23yrs old now he will be playing under Ham and will have Handy to work with him.

For the vet he is worth the gamble. They can trade or waive him if it does not work out.

I been following him since he was at Duke. Unique physical talent. Inconsistent but the talent is there. I hope he soaks up everything Bron teaches him.

And I bet Coach Handy is licking his chops to work with this kid. I'm glad he's finally in LA.
