Should be playing together with AD against Kings and Nuggets. Need another big in the paint everytime AD is pulled out to the perimeter by Sabonis and Jokic. |

I hope he stays for a while
He's only 23 and has been putting it together as the season has progressed.
He's still very raw but has shown he will improve over time, the physical, athletic tools he has are stuff you can't teach either.
Remember how McGee was perceived earlier in his career then changed the tune as he got years under his belt, I can see Jax doing the same |

I'd like him back next year for the minimum. _________________ LAKERS 2019-2020: NBA World Champions! |

Something has changed since the Celtics game we played in Boston and I like it
Maybe it's just ham giving him consistent minutes |

He was a hothead in New Orleans, but I think that had more to do with the coaching staff failing to reel him in and not holding him accountable for it. He still has his issues, but he plays cooler under this coaching staff. Maybe it's Phil Handy's influence rubbing off on the youth. _________________ Yi Jianlian Fanboy. Respect The Chair.

We got 8ft Jokic and this dude cant get on the court...I dont get it. If anything to make him run...but when we walk the ball up the court a whole quarter...we let Jokic rest |

Read somewhere that he is unsure if he wants to pick up his option…
Most likely waiting to see if someone offers him more money or a more playing time starting role? |

Some people are slower to grow up than others. It's also hard for some to come to grips with where they really are in the pecking order. Hopefully he's progressing to where he needs to be. |

Shams is reporting that Hayes is picking up his option for 2024-25 also (in addition to Dlo).
His contract is $2.4m in the report. _________________ LBJ + AD = More rings

At the min, he represents a low cost depth option, no reason to dislike this news. _________________ Lakers, Chargers, Dodgers, Arsenal FC.

You're not off. He was drafted No.8 overall in his draft. Cam Reddish & Rui followed. All three are with the Lakers now. All three are physically gifted.
There's no way that we would be able to acquire three lottery picks from the same draft unless they all have an almost fatal flaw.
Hayes- physically gifted, good motor, but below average bballiq.
Hachimura- physically gifted but average bballiq & average motor
Cam- physically gifted, average bballiq & average motor |

On a non-contending team, yes. _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points." |

Hayes gets roasted by people but the guy even last night played 20 mins, ran the floor, had a block, a steal, limited himself to 2 fouls, grabbed 6 rebounds, and shot 75% from the floor.
That’s damn near his Feb, Mar, April numbers from last season
Hayes in Feb - 15mpg, 6pts, 4rebs, 1blk 71% from the field
Hayes in Mar - 15mpg, 6pts, 5rebs, 1blk 75% from the field
Hayes in Apr - 17mpg, 7pts, 5rebs, 1 blk, 1 stl, 80% from field
That was a 33 game sample where he averaged 3 fouls per game because Handy worked with him on not fouling and he actually got minutes from Ham with Wood out.
Last night he gave you 20 mins, 6 Rebs, 75% from the field on 4 shots, a steal, a block, 2 fouls, ran up and down both ways … that’s essentially Javale McGee production there. Idc how it looks even if it looks clumsy because he grew just like AD did in high school, but it’s effective and his production has been damn consistent. If you give him 15-20 mins you can pencil in 7, 6, 1, 1 on damn near 70% every night … and that should be playing with AD at times too because they can lock up a paint better than Rui and finish better than Vando |

You're looking at the wrong numbers. I outlined it in a previous post but Hayes is one of the worst rim protectors in the league and a big reason the defense goes to hell when AD sits. He's nowhere close to McGee's production who was elite. People treat Javale like he was some dime a dozen big like what Hayes is when that couldn't be further from the truth.
66.7
63.9
68.2
His DFG% within 6ft in Feb/March/April. These are bottom of the barrel, worst in the league caliber numbers. For the full season his own FG% was lower than the percentage he gave up at the rim which was something only a dozen rotation centers accomplished and he was bottom 3 in that category (Diff%). _________________ It was reminiscent of one of those Most Interesting Man in the World advertisements: "I don't always shoot 6-for-28 from the field, but when I do, I become the youngest player in league history to score 28,000 career points."
