I forget the poster who said some will say if we win it would be in spite of Ham. Well look above LINK

Ham deserves criticism for some things, but he has put Wood back in the rotation lately, and Wood has played well. That's one good coaching decision he has made lately, and it resulted in this win.

But yeah, at the same time, we won in spite of Ham taking Wood out of the game instead of closing with him.

Ham may not be a good coach, but maybe he's also not as bad as some say. He needs to fail forward and improve at his craft. That's all we can ask as long as he's our coach.

The one thing I don't understand is why Wood doesn't get more PT. As I've said before he's a rhythm player. When he gets minutes he produces. Looks to me as if Ham has a closing unit and he sticks with it regardless.

Its the Ivica Zubac Clippers!

Don't remind me. We could've had both of those guys.

Still hurts for me too. Feels like he'd be a really good complement to AD.

Lue had sense enough to sit him shortly after he missed a bunny at the rim in the 4th.

At least you can sort of follow the logic of some other terrible trades like the Westbrook one. Zubac for Mike Muscala, who we didn’t even re-sign at the end of the season, was downright bizarre.

Have to remember the context of the trade at the time. It was a cap clearing move to create max salary possibilities to attract multiple marquee free agents to just step right in, no salary gymnastics needed.

An absurd “sales pitch” plan to be sold to free agents and fans alike.

Never understood the reasoning at the time. Still does not make sense.

It was nice to see an engaged Laker team and a win. Now let’s see if they can build on it and get back to being a competitive team.

Really don’t see why CWood can’t thrive next to AD, coach gotta figure this out. He board decent, defend the rim decent, stretch the floor decent, even cover smaller dude switches decently… or am I wrong

Not going to work for the majority of the mins. Limited only.

Lakers have a PF named James that plays 35+mpg next to Davis most of the rotations. The main reason they insist playing Davis at C in the first place.

Beating the Clippers may kickstart the Lakers. It had to be a confidence builder. Ham still hasn't cemented a starting unit.

I hope he can figure it out, Rui played over 24 minutes in last year playoff, Wood’s role is exactly the same except maybe defend the rim more. It’s not only doable, might make Rui contract expendable (can bring in $25m+ combined with Gabe)
