So unless we are going to keep reminiscing on that 1 block he had on Dame, im struggling to understand his value on this team.

He apparently has a godly plus-minus. That to me highlights how we've been down one perimeter defender all season. Vando had an amazing +/- when he was playing too. I think Gabe would've been more impactful for this team than the fanbase assumes. Neither of those guys would be worse offensively than Dinwiddie's been so far.

I personally would've upgraded at the C and given these minutes to Max, but this team seems to not have patience for Max and I get it, he's super green. I also think there's a little bit of contract suppression too.

+1
There are a lot of stats showing how good certain lineups are with Max. I like Max and think he's solid in that role, but what that stat really shows is how starved the Lakers have been for a 3&D.

He was fantastic last night. Gave up a ton of size to Tobias and Oubre but was still able to prevent them from getting good looks. Even blocked a Tobias postup.

Makes me wish we had a healthy Gabe all season who profiles as a better switch defender and is more of a natural off-ball player.

If we make playoffs 🙂 I believe Spence is gonna pay great dividends & step up his offense, he looks a lot more confident the last couple of games. If we get any offense or shot making from him it’s definitely a bonus! But if Vando doesn’t come back expect Ham & egghead to play 3 guards a lot. Cam is useless on offense & that’s too bad cause they leave him wide open on baseline 3’s & he just can’t make them, I thought he was known more for his offense than defense prior?

Really good spot start. You can see why he's been a starter in this leak for his whole career

Been surprised by his defense. My understanding he has been an average defender in his career but lately it has been quite good

Huge game for Spencer today. Had one of those nights where he just hits from 3. His defense has been the real surprise from him. I had zero expectations for him on that end other than being a slightly bigger guard, but he’s been more than respectable on that end.

Or DLO/AR defense look so bad it’s making Dinwiddie look way better.

But real talk tho… His defense at the guard position been really good. That’s why it’s a must that we need to pair DLO with a more athletic guard who can defend.

Would love to bring back Dinwiddie but I don’t think we can afford him.

He was a very good player before the big injury.

Only ham can manage to turn a good player into useless, doesn’t know how to insert players at their best situations

He should be giving us 10-14ppg off the bench if used right…

Not surprising one of our guards always plays big when were down 1 ball handler. They just get more opportunity out there.

He provides decent defense which we need. If he can get into an offensive rhythm, he could be valuable asset off the bench.

There's no reason to not let Spencer be a 6th man scorer off the bench at this point. He's at his best when he's in attack mode and asked to attack on offense and getting spot up opportunities when he gets going.

Dinwiddie being designated our primary 6th man scoring PG should have been what we had him do from Day 1 instead of throwing him into 3 guard lineups from the get go.

Yes, I been preaching & hoping he would defer less & be a 6th man scorer instead of complacent sub making others happy & not being a threat.

He really needs to apply himself & be what he previously was with other teams! This was a blessing in disguise.

Great to see Dinwiddie finally getting a chance to show off his scoring ability. I really hope we retain him for next season, if DLO leaves to Orlando, I sure hope we give him the starting PG role.

Has he really been a better defender than Reaves?

Dinwiddie da God! This guy used to just light us up, nice to see him do it to someone else for once.

Will say his defense has also been good, not so much lateral mobility/length like a Vando but his recovery reaction time is good

Reaves has not been a good defender.

Which is surprising to me, because he had great instincts and that's where he held his own initially.
