All the easier for us to draft him.

Looking at the draft power rankings, this looks like a couple of current "move" back options...Lakers 17 and 55 for...

Toronto 19 and 31
New York 24 or 25 and 38
Orlando 18 and 47
Milwaukee 23 and 33
Utah 29 and 32

If Rob managed that trade with Toronto, I would go for:

Zach Edey at 19 and Ryan Dunn from Virginia at 31.. Would be the perfect draft.. We would get that Center and a potentially a great 3 and D wing..

I mean if you're not going to draft the people that people think are going 17. Why not just draft Edey at 17 then?

I guess 19 and 31 would work, you'd just hope no one takes Edey at 17 or 18

If only they would stop the nonesense of trying to appease LBJ with another star..smh. PHX and WB just dont taach this org nothing. Even the CBO is telling every team to get stars via drafting..and a stop to super teams.

Well, if there was even an inkling that Toronto or Orlando might want Edey, then you don't do this trade. I just wanted the chance to draft Ryan Dunn at 31. Dude averaged 3 blocks almost 2 steals last year. We need a wing defender and he could be it.. I can just imagine him and Vando flying all over the court chasing everyone down...

as long as he can shoot a 3 and got a midi..that would be gret. We dont know the next time Vando will go down..a backup for what he does is really needed. I so wish this Org wasnt living in the past..Edey and a Defensive Wing sounds like a good offseason.

We only have #56 officially and our 17th pick is heading to the Pels. What picks do we have that the Laker Franchise Future is depending on?

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Tyler Smith is this year’s Brandon Miller. Guys with that size who can dribble and shoot are a nightmare to defend.

The Pels haven't decided whether they want our FRP this draft, or the following one. Pels trying to decided which one gives them the best chance for an impact player. Reports are, they're leaning towards letting the Lakers keep the '24 draft pick, and taking the '25 pick instead. We'll just have to wait and see.

I think its a no brainer for the Pels. Why wouldn't they wait an extra year with the chance of our roster deteriorating further. The only thing that sucks for the Pels is we got rid of Ham.

this draft should be easy, in a weak draft and with a mid first round pick, you just go with the best available big or any 6'8" and above wing who can shoot a little. just don't blow it on some 6' PG from USC who came off the bench.

This draft is so bad and #17 pick is no man’s land. I would try to trade back and get more assets. They need help all over the court and these guys all project as role players, so just take someone who takes pride in defense.

Just draft Zach Edey, you draft the best player in college basketball that was a multi-year guy which means they can contribute right away.

Seriously this.

I had enough of drafting unathletic and/or uninspiring guards. We need a Center, and we haven't drafted one in forever.

Give me Edey and I'm a happy guy. We're gonna have a huge (bleep) problem if the answer is another freaking guard.

If we're going C, Ware > Edey, IMO.

Far less concerns about how he can be used even if more questions about body of work.

Eddy doesn’t need to get much better to be really good in the league. We are seeing interior defense mean something and he provides that imho. Not my first choice but not a bad choice.

A few upperclassmen are in the #17 range according to ESPN.
Devin Carter
Tristan da Silva
Kevin McCullar Jr.

After the success of Jaquez and Podziemski, maybe teams will be more willing to draft older players.

https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/story/_/id/38788364/2024-nba-draft-rankings-espn-top-25-prospects
https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/story/_/id/39945119/2024-nba-mock-draft-team-analysis-all-30-first-round-picks

ESPN has had pretty good mocks in recent years. It's final mock before the draft was close to the actual result. Currently Edey is out of reach.
