That third quarter sort of puts a hurt to the whole "our supporting cast is garbage" argument, doesn't it? Though I'm sure the next time we lose, it will be back.

There's always been a fine line between the supporting cast being championship worthy or lottery worthy.

The supporting cast for the last 1.5 years, when healthy, is as good as any lower playoff seed. They may have less individual 1 on 1 talent, but as a team needing parts around Kobe, no doubt they have been playoff caliber and are once again this season.

Bynum 10/10/2
Odom 13/8
Radmanovic 10 ppg
Fisher 12/3
Farmar 10 ppg
Walton 7/4/3

We have 6 guys that contribute to this team a lot, with 3 other guys just coming in or recovering from injuries (Kwame, Turiaf and Ariza). Crittenton may be the most talented point guard on this team and he's not even a factor yet. Bynum may be the real low post 2nd option this team needs, and he's not even scratched the surface of what he can do inside in terms of being a scorer (We do not pass him the ball much and he does not get post position enough)

Lakers support is much better than advertised. You have a team that scores 80 ppg roughly around Kobe. All while Lamar is not the player he was last season, in terms of contribution and other factors I mentioned above.

Which is why I've always mantained that this team is not as bad as they were saying all offseason and that noway in hell are teams like the Bulls or Cavs better supporting cast teams. They may be better defensively coached teams though.
