This guy is still listed at 7'0, but seeing him next to other centers in the NBA, the guy has to have grown since he came into the NBA. I thought I remember hearing a story to that extent last year, but he is still listed at "only" 7'0. To me, just by the looks of it, the guy is bigger than the guys listed at 7'0 he goes against.

maybe he is 7-1 but its more likely that when he came in he was 6-10 actually and only listed 7-0. The heights in NBA are pretty ridiculous. They add an inch at least.

He said he measured in recently at over 7' in socks. Therefore his nba measurment in shoes would be 7'1" or possibly 7'2" if he had ridiculously tall shoes.

Duncan is around 7 feet too, and he's jumping while Drew is not. Not surprising.

That's proof of nothing.

Bynum could block anybodies shot if he times it right.

He is 7'0 and 3/4 inches without shoes and 7'2 in shoes. I heard it straight from the Bynum's mouth in one of the Lakers practice videos on Lakers.com. The Bynum is very tall and can block many shots.

Bill Brasky is 9 feet tall. He got bored blocking shots so he would just open his mouth and eat the ball anytime someone took a shot.

I saw Bynum make his first points as an NBA player against the Bulls.

What does that have to do with his height?

Nothing at all, suckuz!

Is there anyone in the league with longer arms then Bynum? It seems like dude is usually 5-6 inches higher then anyone else on the court when he goes up for a board.

I'd say Bynum is a bit taller than 7'. The thing is - most of the other "seven footers" are more like 6'-10", so Bynum looks taller. Also - Bynum's wingspan is obviously longer than most others - so he looks even taller. But he does seem to have about the best extension when going up for a board, etc, than anyone in the league.

He did say he was 7-1/4 in socks on the on the practice viedo. He probably tops out at 7-1 in a couple years. That's around 7-2 to 7-3 in shoes. AKA taller than any tallented player outside Houston

Guess we remember it differently then... someone should find the video if they care enough. Anyways, the man is tall enough to make some damage, all that matters.

NBA listed height is "in shoes."

Shoes vary from 3/4" to 2" - most give about 1" in height, though some guys (Boozer) wear 1.5" to 1.75" - that's why you see so many 6'7" guys listed at 6'9".

Socks is a good 7'2" in shoes (no pun intended).

I just picked the one with Bynum's picture and found it on the first try. It's the 12/11 at the 2:30 mark. Looks like we were both right in a way. He said at the beginning of the season it was 7 and a quarter without shoes, so 7'1 or '2 with shoes. I didn't hear the "or '2" the first time I watch that vid.

In the recent article about Kobe's involvement with Make-A-Wish, there is a quote from Vanessa saying that Kobe is 6'4.75 inches tall, as well as Kobe saying he's 6'5 in shoes.

J-Critt is 6'3, just thought I'd throw that in there too, and Lamar is probably closer to 6'10 than 6'9. Not sure how tall Drew is.
