we have 11 losses this season. 6 of them are against eastern conference opponents and only 5 versus the west. what does this tell us? first of all, we have the best vs-western conference record at 15-5 (suns & spurs both have 9 losses vs west). secondly, the in-conference record is the 2nd tie-breaker when you have the same record as another team in your conference. thirdly, the western conference is a tougher conference than the east, and a good record here means we are beating tougher opponents. just thought i would make this observation.

We dropped two stupid games to the Nets and Bucks, otherwise we lost two games we didn't show up to @Bos and Bos, and we had two so-so losses to @Cle and at home vs. Orlando.

It's not too bad, the most important thing is we control our own destiny as we are tied in losses to the top-4 teams. If we can win at 75% clip from now on we can end up with #1.

Luckily for us, those Eastern conference losses are in our past. The current team is taking care of business in the games they should win. They won't win every "should win" game, but they are blowing out the teams they should.

Exactly. From here on our we control our own destiny. It's important to build momentum for the second half of this month and the road trip so I expect us to win the next 5 games.

Pretty much. We had those 3 losses in a row right after the trade for Ariza. They were all against EC teams IIRC.

Of course you want to win them all but loss to EC > loss to WC b/c tie breakers for the playoffs go from record - divission (if applicable) - conference.
