Home teams are a perfect 10-0 in the second round of the playoffs this year.
The Lakers are a perfect 6-0 in the post-season this year.
One of these streaks ends tonight. |

Utah will be playing for their playoff lives tonite -- the Lakers better match the Jazz's intensity and not expect to get the calls tonite -- if the Lakers withstand the opening Qtr onslaught than the Lakers will have a good chance to win down the stretch - otherwise the Jazz will blow them out. |

Right. One thing the Lakers have done well so far (both at home AND on the road) is start strong. We've never had a big deficit or had to play catch-up for any long stretch during any of our playoff games.
Utah has both the offensive talent and the defensive discipline (not to mention the momentum generated by the Energy Solutions Arena crowd) to build a big early lead. It's going to be something new to us this post-season and I'm eager to see how we handle it.
The thing I'm most afraid of is how Kobe will react to a big deficit. He's been playing great team-ball so far but that's in large part because our guys have encouraged him to do that by knocking down open shots, finishing plays and making good decisions. But if the rest of the team comes out sluggish or can't match the Jazz level of play, will Kobe start running a one-man offense? Will he start taking tough jumpers because of not getting calls when driving to the hoop? I hope not. We might lose either way, but our team chemistry could go down a notch. |

Utah will be playing with a sense of desperation b/c they know if they lose tonight, the writing's on the wall. It's up to us to match their intensity. I'm curious to see how we come out to start. We've been a very good road team all year, but this is going to be a very tough game tonight IMO. Keep it close with five or six minutes left and I'll take my chances. |

I don't think Utah has confidence that they will beat Lakers. _________________ 1) DO WHATEVER IT TAKES

The Lakers have a real opportunity tonight to put the rest of the league on notice. As much as they've talked up Utah and their glorious home record, if we go up 3-0...oh my goodness. _________________ So glad we gave you your flowers while you were here, Kobe. |

All I ask for is keeping calm if we lose. The guys have a 37/4 record at home. They´re a tough game to be defeated in Utah and, besides, this is their last chance. If they lose tonight, they´ll be swept, no doubt. So I consider the possibility of a defeat in my mind. If there´s going to be in this semifinal a typical game where the other team has the motivation of the despair and we have a collective very bad day, I´d bet my right arm that this will happen today. But even in that case I find almost impossible for them to win more games, so we should take it easy if we lose.

second chance points will be huge today..
I'm thinking they'll come out pretty hot shooting in their own gym and all.. they haven't shot the ball particularly well this series...therefore, we need to limit their second chance opportunities.
I'm also thinking freethrows will play a factor. They're be some bad calls tonight.. and they might be the deciding factor. |

Everyone talks about Utah's league-best home record and the dreaded EnergySolutions Arena, but nobody seems to realize that we're the second best road team in the NBA (after Boston).
That doesn't mean we'll win tonight (or on Sunday), but if any team can keep their poise and play their best in a hostile environment, we can.

Keep in mind, the Lakers were one of the teams to take a win in Salt Lake this season. So we have confidence that we can beat them on the road. Remember the bottle throwing incident after Kobe's jersey popping after he iced the game? This kind of bad blood between the teams will work in our favor b/c there's no love lost between Kobe/DFish and Salty Lake City.
Tonight, if we can 1) EXECUTE EXECUTE EXECUTE & 2) Match intensity and toughness especially around the basket, I think we will take this game.
I predict there will be a plelthora of calls in favor of Utah. Look mainly for Jazz offensive fouls in the paint called against the Lakers. Also look for LOTS of back-pushing clear outs underneath the basket going for rebounds.
Beating the Jazz will be a very VERY satisfying win for us and right now I'm also predicting the Lakers will SWEEP the series!!! _________________ I <3 Basketball! |

I'm not concerned with the Lakers offensive execution or offensive chemistry. It's the other side of the ball where the Lakers need to remain dialed in. Our guys have proven that they can pretty much score at will against the slower, less athletic Jazz. What the Lakers do on the defensive side of the ball in terms of continuing to surpress Utah's perimeter game, preventing easy baskets and controlling the defensive glass will determine whether the Lakers win tonight or not. |

Boozer's problems don't have much to do with the Laker's D. His problems are all on him, he's been having trouble for quite some time now. |

Another thing to add to what has been said - the Lakers have really controlled the tempo in their favor this entire playoffs. If they do that tonight, as well and I expect them too, then we'll be able to steal tonight. It's going to be tough, but we're ready for it.
Booing Fisher was the biggest mistake Utah made this year.. _________________ LD2k's Twitter

one thing i'm really worry about is those baseline screen fouls they called on us in game 1. the refs really didn't call those that much in game 2, but now the scene shifts to Utah and i think they'll give Utah a lot more of those calls tonight and put us in the penalty early. thoughts? |

You guys better not forget the game starts an hour earlier than usual.
Games in LA are usually at 10:30PM EST/7:30PM PST. Tonight's game starts at 9:00PM EST/6:00PM PST _________________ Courage doesn't always roar.
