Not much interest in the refs when the team is winning, it appears. The conspiracy only rears its ugly head when the team loses. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I was unhappy with the officiating in the first Clippers game. Yeah, the one we won by 38 points.
I have never disliked officiating because of the result of the game. It's just that, when the Lakers lose, the officiating 'excuse' gets a lot more attention than when they win. _________________ Jeffs

It's cool that NBA-TV allows the fans to vote. Now I can watch the game! Go Lakers! |

It might be tough for Gasol trying to keep up with Nowitzki out on the perimeter--he hasn't had a lot of time out there and that's typically been Odom's assignment. Hopefully we aren't as shaky as we were at the start of our last real road game in Denver. |

In a preview of tonight's game, Mike Fisher from DallasBasketball.com lays out one big reason for the Lakers' success. In particular, I thought my LG brethren would enjoy this quote.
Quote: | When Baron Davis, Carmelo Antony and Brandon Roy play the Lakers, they are reduced to being 33-percent shooters? And when Tracy McGrady plays ‘em, he makes one basket while coming down with some sort of vaginal pain? |
LINK
Beware, if you are going to be upset over someone who obviously dislikes Kobe referring to him as The Drama Queen, you might want to skip the link. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |

This should be a big whooping. This Dallas squad almost relies on isolation, and that means the 2nd unit (which feeds off trapping other team's isolation plays) will be able to put up crazy points on them. Even if Kidd has a big game, they lack interior presence and they have no real answers for Lakers length.
Really, the Lakers don't even really have to play that aggressively on defense to hold Dallas under 90 points. Use length, shore up on the boards, and trap Kidd. Just all that, and Dallas may struggle to put up 85 points. Depending on how the refs call the game.
Being this is on the road, Lakers offense may come in and out. We've yet to see the Lakers play a crisp, turnover free 1st quarter of offense.
So, 98-85. If Lakers are clicking, this could be a 20 point margin. |

Because we are never supposed too lose. Ever. And when we do it can't be our fault. |

DJ Mbenga and The Triangle Offense
Quote: | "How you liking that triangle?'' [Devean] George asked. Mbenga just sort of rolled his head sheepishly and said nothing. |
Quote: | George wasn't done needling Mbenga. Kobe Bryant came through and George yelled to him: "How's Mbenga doing in the triangle?''
Bryant just rolled his eyes and started laughing. |
Also, in other news... Quote: | George, by the way, said he's been cleared to start five-on-zero work | I wonder how many points Zero will win by. _________________ Game recognize game, Granddad. - Riley Freeman, The Boondocks |
