I've been here for a while now. But rarely I see Lakersground Members who joined in 2001 or earlier. I was just wondering how many of us are there.

If you are one of these Old-Timers, please post in this thread and give information how you found Lakersground. (and maybe what has changed since then)

i joined in '02...got the heads up about LG from a high school friend...i always wondered what happened to the people of LG before '01 because the earliest i've seen was april '01 in the past...all my friends post at CL but since i was introduced to LG first i post here...

TBHonest, I don't remember how the site and I hit it off

but boy am I('m) glad we did.

The format has changed a little bit. I like both styles. The team has changed drastically.

I joinced after the 2001 Playoffs. It wasn't too long ago actually. It was after the back-to-back had been established. I take no pride in my DOJ(joining) as far as claiming to be a longtime user. At that time in 2001, that is when most of the bandwagners came about. Moderators were forced to dig deep. More Kings/Queens fans and Portland fans than you'd imagine. There were plenty nonetheless. I happened to gladly stick around due to the overall pleasure I receive as an effect of using the site. I enjoyed a fine 2002 Playoff run on this site

The ones were here in April before the 15-1 playoff run must have really enjoyed it.

The bottom line is these Laker grounds have been fabulous. There come times in a Laker fan's life where using this site is very important. I enjoy it.

By the way, Paul Sunderland, who called Laker games after Chick's exit on a 3peat and a sweep, is now calling Women's Volleyball on National Television.

I lurked LG for a long time before finally joining. Way back in the 90s I used to talk to Jason every so often. We both had our Lakers webpages and were part of each others "webring".

Running a Laker site was really fun, even with all the other "competition". But back then, it wasn't about that. It was about linking to each others pages and we just earned money individually from the ads

I remember receiving so many e-mails (mostly from foreigners) who actually thought I work for the Lakers. They always asked me for ticket hookups and asked when certain players were available for autographs. Good times!

I lurked for years before posting on this site. I along with CabinCreek44 used to post back on AOL's Laker boards way back starting in 1992-93 I believe. I remember this site evolved out of rivals.com. Don't exactly remember how I found it .........but back then I was all over the net reading every ounce of Laker info I could get my hands on. Times certainly have changed just like the fans have. Not much patience for success anymore unfortunately!

It's been quite a ride, huh. From the Shaq/Kobe wars to the dark times inbetween and now back to contention.

My date of joining (April 2001) is the time that the Lakersgound.net site replaced the old Lakersground.com site (on Rivals.com).

So I don't think you'll see any members of Lakersground.net any earlier than 2001.

Now, if you also want to include Lakersground.com, I'm pretty sure I go back to the summer of 2000, when Phil was signed as coach.

And the site was already rockin and rollin with lots of Lakers fan when I joined.

I found out about the site when someone came through and left a message about it on the MSNBC basketball forum (a really horrid place).
