All of our clinchers have been decisive blowouts (except for the first round which was supposed to be a blowout, but we let the Jazz back into it ). I'm expecting to see a big game from kobe and the rest of the starters tonight, and maybe Sasha will even make a shot , for a decisive game 5 win and a 15th championship . I think the better odds would be that the magic will win this game, but I think the Lakers will not let the oppurtunity of closing this one out as soon as possible slip away from them. If we can overcome a record performance from dwight and the magic with the refs in their pockets, I think we can handle the pressure in game 5 (hopefully the refs are only half as bad as they were last time). Lets end this today! _________________ |

That is if Phil sticks around. He is getting kind of old. We'll see if he retires or not. _________________ |

End it now! I want to party (peacefully) in Hollywood today and if they have to win on Tuesday I have to stay home to watch. Minus all the pretty women of course. |

Anyone else think about that? It has been on my mind since we won game 4.
I know most or all of us know that feeling of satisfaction when our boys win the title. And it's great. But for me I also want to see Phil and Kobe's reaction after the final buzzer. I want to see our title-less vets like Pau and Odom celebrate. And then of course I want to see all our young fellas reactions to their first Championship.
I hope we win this game. We need to come out with a purpose and make Orlando feel demoralized. If we get an early lead, I think they will fold, and we will play our hearts out to make sure we hold on to it.
Focus
Execute
Play hard
We will go to sleep as Champions.
Let's go Lakers! |

I don't think they are going to fold. They have been a very resilient team the entire playoffs and we haven't even seen all their weapons yet. They have played very good defense on Kobe and Bynum has been taken out of the game by all the refs so we really need to hope the others show up with their strongest game.
Ireland is 10-0 in the playoffs and he says Lakers lose this one.
Bresnahan (LA Times) is 6-0 and he says the same.

This may very well be yet another streak that they break this year. |

the only downside is this is gonna be the last laker basketball game for a long time. I say we extend this to 7 games so we can watch more laker games...who agrees?
Just kidding. |

Anyone have the ref assignments tonight? I'm assuming we're going to see Derosa and Mauer again. _________________ On pick and roll defense.

haven't seen all their weapons?? what was game 3?
none the less. i will be in attendance tonight, and am counting on seeing the trophy ceramony in person. like we did in denver, we will bring it tonight.
and kobe will finish it off with an efficient and deadly mamba strike. over and over. _________________ Spark the ism, my expertism, is lyracism, my flow will take you over like I was hypnotism...so where's the lighter, to start the cypher.... |

We're not facing the Orland Magic tonight ... our main opponents will be the refs. They will stop at nothing to make sure we lose tonight |

Is there any other sport where the refs are even known by name, yet alone known as well as those in the nba? |

Basically the only other one is Ed Hercules but that's only because of his legendary physique. _________________ On pick and roll defense.

I tend to agree with Ireland.
Think that the Magic will get all the calls again, and will come out with that extra energy.
Lakers will close this in game 6, IMO. Although I would love to see it end tonight. |
