This is going to be a close game. No Pau. The mavericks are also going to want to redeem themselves for their opening-night blunder. And aren't they going to debut their new uniforms as well?

Dallas Morning News

Quote:
Scouting the Lakers

They won their opener against the Clippers but were only ahead by one going into the fourth quarter. ... Center Andrew Bynum had a huge night with 26 points and 13 rebounds. The big concern with him is staying healthy for a full season. ... Speaking of which, Pau Gasol missed the opener with a hamstring problem and is day-to-day. ... Kobe Bryant, who once dropped 62 on the Mavericks, had a workmanlike 33 in the opener. ... Ron Artest seems to be meshing comfortably with the Lakers and had 10 points, five rebounds and four assists in the opener. ... Former Mavericks D.J. Mbenga and Josh Powell remain on the roster and join Michael Finley as ex-Mavs with championship rings.

Scouting the Mavericks

They have lost six in a row to the Lakers, including their last four trips to Staples Center. ... Rick Carlisle says rebounding is "a big key. The way they run their offense, there's a lot of movement and wing guys often end up under the basket for offensive rebounds. Winning the rebound game is big." ... They again will lack Josh Howard (ankle) and Tim Thomas (knee). ... Shawn Marion should continue to improve as he regains his stamina after missing most of the preseason with a calf injury that prohibited serious aerobic training.

No Pau for us and no Josh Howard for them. Lakers 107, Dallas 98.

The bench won't hold the lead because LO is no longer on it. When Pau get's back, all will be well with the Lakers. I'm not worried because the Mavs are a perimeter team and our perimeter defense is improved.

The Mavs have won in LA what 6 times in the past 25 years or so? I doubt they get their 7 win tonight.

Go Lakers!

So lets see if Cuban changes his mind about Ron on the Lakers.

It's good it's on ESPN.

I'd love to see Mbenga play within his talents. Rebound, block shots, and dunk.

I love playing the Mavs because I love seeing Cuban's "Losing the Lakers again" face.

I can only see us losing if we let them have the open threes all night loooong. But this game will be great to watch.
