I won't complain abut the foul calls because they were consistent on both ends; which is why our players could adjust in the 2nd half. The game was played in sludge and part of that was us keeping Denver from running IMO. Bynum did a great job of anchoring the defense when he played, Ariza played well and Pau straight out saved us from getting blown out. I was surprised to not see Mihm. Oh yeah LO played steady and Kobe is by far the best closer in the game. _________________ Stop crying and start doing.

Gasol posterizing The Birdman was memorable.
Other than that, the game was a fiasco in regard to the "officiating"
Some of the Lakers bench players seem to be home court heros and road zeros.
Jordan Farmar needs to be consistent on the road, not just a home court guy and Vujacic needs to stay within his role. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |

LakerLanny - I'm sceptical on if Vujacic should even have a role. Nothing against his hard work but I don't know if any of his skills match the teams needs except for the shooting. Problem is he pulls the trigger so quick we don't know if he can even throw a decent entry pass to a big with great position down low. He is deadly coming off a screen for a mid range jumper. _________________ Stop crying and start doing.

It's been known that role players play better at home than on the road. So the Lakers bench didn't really contribute much in their first test and it was up to Kobe to save the day with a lot of help from Pau.
Bynum was limited by foul trouble plus his teammates inability to give him the ball. I hope Phil pounds it into the team's heads that if you've got the big lineup in, get the ball down low. |

They did get the ball to the big - Gasol.
There was maybe one or two times when Bynum had position and didn't get the ball. |

I think it's an ugly win but again it's a win. Wish the D would have played better but it was still a win. 3-0 Lakers. |

Thanks DB!
I like the way Kobe is handling the refs. He's adjusted really well and the team can only benefit from this. There's nothing you can do about how the game is going to be called. If the team can move on from bad calls, there's a good chance of us winning with our depth and versatility.
The Pau jam on Andersen was great for our offensive mindset. I think some of the guys were being hesitant around the rim. Pau changed all of that and helped us tremendously.
Rad is impressive defensively. His work in the offseason has paid off in terms of playing time and the intangibles this team needs so much.

Thanks DB. Early foul trouble by alot of the guys, but it was a good test at the start of the season to find a way to pull out a ugly win. |

Bynum had 1 shot in 20 minutes, 4 total if you consider he was fouled on other attempts. Pau had 3 shots in the 2nd half. |

I think one thing everyone is forgetting is that the Lakers were in foul trouble early but our depth was able to still keep us in a position to win. Kobe took over in the 4th Quarter and even with some awful shooting and some really terrible calls, we were able to open up a nice lead at the end.
Denver shot lights out on a few 3 pointers toward the end of the game but every time they did that, Kobe and Company answered back. This team for all intensive purposes should have lost this game. But our defense was good enough, our offense showed up late in the game and we are now 3-0. Denver is not an easy opponent but I guarentee they won't play very well when they have to play in LA.
Go Lakers! |

Re: Sasha, I think it's obvious that he wants to be more of a playmaker this season. It looks like he has improved his handles a bit. He's been doing a bit more fancier dribbling this season although the ball doesn't necessarily look like it's on a string when in it's in Sasha's hands. However, Sasha's decision-making off the dribble has never been all that great, and we're seeing what happens when Sasha tries to do too much. I don't mind him taking wide open shots. I don't mind him pushing the ball hard in transition. However, he needs to rein in those attempts to create off the dribble, especially if it's not for himself, because that simply isn't the strength of his game |
